Ubifly Technologies seeks a Flight Mechanics Engineer to verify and validate 6-DOF flight-dynamics models, develop dynamic models for aircraft systems, and perform stability and control analyses across the flight envelope.
You will work with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and C/C++, conduct SIL/HIL tests with real-time simulations, and generate verification reports for certification and product development.
As a Flight Mechanics Engineer (verification and validation), the following work area and skill sets awaits you:
Test the 6-DOF nonlinear aircraft flight-dynamics models to their
Develop mathematical models for aircraft rigid-body dynamics, aerodynamics, propulsion, actuators, landing gear, and environmental effects.
Perform aircraft trim, stability, control, and performance analyses across the flight envelope.
Determine and analyse aerodynamic derivatives, stability derivatives, control derivatives, and propulsion characteristics.
Perform longitudinal, lateral, and directional stability and controllability assessments.
Analyse control-system performance, stability margins, actuator utilisation, and control authority.
Run Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) iron-bird, and flight-test simulations.
Compare simulation results against flight test or analytical data and generate reports.
Design test cases, write test scripts and verification procedures etc..
Develop and maintain testing environments using MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, or equivalent tools .
Test and mature the aircraft, propulsion, actuator, sensor, environment, and flight-control models.
Perform model correlation against wind-tunnel, component-test, ground-test, and flight-test data.
Evolve aircraft response characteristics such as Time constants, Natural frequencies, Control response, Hover and transition response etc.
Develop and simulate failure, fault, and degraded-mode scenarios .
Support FHA, FMEA, FTA, SSA, and system safety activities from a flight-dynamics perspective.
Analyse flight-test data and correlate simulation predictions with actual aircraft behaviour.
Investigate discrepancies between simulation, ground-test, and flight-test results.
Support preparation of engineering analyses and compliance evidence as per certification requirements .
Prepare technical reports, analysis notes, model documentation, simulation reports, and verification evidence.
Experience: 2 + years of hands-on experience in testing of flight mechanics, dynamics, simulation and control system.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Controls Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong understanding of Aircraft 6-DOF equations of motion, Aerodynamics, Flight dynamics, Stability and control, Aircraft performance, Propulsion, Control systems, Numerical modelling and simulation
Hands -on experience with MATLAB/Simulink .
Good programming skills in Python and/or C/C++ .
Experience with testing and validation methods, data analysis, and engineering simulations.
Ability to interpret aerodynamic, propulsion, and flight-test data.
Experience in one or more of the following will be highly desirable:
