Job summary

Interpath Advisory invites an experienced Transaction Services professional in India to join our team in Gurugram. You will perform financial due diligence for buy-side and sell-side engagements, building the analysis that supports our conclusions and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will own defined areas of analysis, prepare schedules, reconcile to management accounts and statutory records, and present tables and charts for client reports.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or finalist (CA/ACCA/ACMA) or MBA in Finance.
• 5–8 years of experience, with at least 3 in financial due diligence or audit with deals exposure.
• Sound command of QoE, net debt and working capital analysis.
• Strong Excel skills and accuracy under time pressure.
• Understands the purpose of QoE analyses, not just mechanics.
• Clear written English and responsiveness to review feedback.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of defined areas of analysis within a workstream and deliver to a reviewable standard.
• Build the underlying financial analysis underpinning conclusions, covering trading performance and margins.
• Prepare working capital, net debt and other supporting schedules.
• Reconcile analyses back to source records (management accounts, statutory accounts, trial balance).
• Prepare tables and charts for client reports to team standards.
• Maintain information request lists and flag missing items.
• Support Q&A and help prepare for management meetings.
• Raise issues promptly and explain anomalies with root cause.

The team

This role sits in Interpaths Transaction Services practice. You will work on financial due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions alongside Interpath Global deal teams, on engagements.

The role

You will build the underlying analysis that every conclusion in the report rests on - accurately, and on time.

What you will be doing

• Take ownership of defined areas of analysis within a workstream and see them through to a reviewable standard.
• Build the underlying financial analysis on which the teams conclusions rest, covering trading performance, margins and other key measures.
• Prepare working capital, net debt and other supporting schedules and exhibits.
• Reconcile the analysis back to source records, including management accounts, statutory accounts and the trial balance.
• Prepare tables and charts for the report to the standard the team requires.
• Maintain the information request list and flag items that have not been received.
• Support the question-and-answer process and help prepare for management meetings.
• Address review points properly, resolving the underlying issue rather than the symptom.
• Raise issues as soon as they arise. An anomaly that cannot be explained is a finding, not an inconvenience.

What we are looking for

• Qualified accountant or finalist - CA (ICAI), CA (SA), ACA, ACCA or equivalent OR MBA in Finance or equivalent.
• Around 5 to 8 years of experience, of which at least 3 in financial due diligence, or in audit with genuine deals exposure.
• A sound working command of quality of earnings, net debt and working capital analysis.
• Strong Excel skills. Accuracy under time pressure is central to the role.
• Understands the purpose of a quality of earnings analysis, not only the mechanics of preparing one.
• Clear written English.
• Responds constructively to review and acts on the feedback given.

What would also help

• Big Four audit or transaction services background.
• Exposure to MS Excel, Alteryx, Power Query or Power BI.
• CFA Level I or progress towards it.
• Experience working to UK or European reporting conventions.
