Gartner is seeking a dynamic Financial Analyst to join our Finance FP&A team, supporting the Conferences Business Unit. This pivotal role partners with executive leadership, senior finance stakeholders, and business unit leaders to deliver actionable insights, robust financial planning, and advanced data analytics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging data to drive business performance and innovation.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with Finance and Conferences leadership to develop and optimize financial analytics for sales teams, supporting profitable growth and revenue enhancement.
- Analyse complex business challenges and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders, leveraging operational analytics to drive performance improvements and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive automation of reporting processes using advanced tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Python to deliver timely, accurate KPI dashboards.
- Synthesize and interpret complex datasets to generate meaningful business insights, supporting strategic and operational decision-making
- Identify opportunities to streamline data/internal financial processes, automate data extraction and develop new metrics.
- Provide ad hoc modelling and analytical insights to the business and help in strategic and operational initiatives.
- Translate executive business objectives into actionable analytics projects, while proactively proposing innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Engage in cross-team collaboration and address ad hoc/ analytical requests from multiple business units, and with individuals with varying levels of analytical experience.
- Ensure rigorous, timely, and accurate financial reporting and analytics for executive leadership and their teams.
- Independently evaluate and enhance existing financial models and frameworks, recommending improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
What you will need:
- 3+ in core analytics, with bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, Analytics or Statistics, Finance - Master's degree preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI - Dax, power query, advanced data modelling, query folding, Databricks etc.
- Strong command of SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; Python experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large financial and operational datasets, identifying key linkages and business drivers.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite - Excel, Power Point, Think Cell, Outlook, etc.
- Proven business partnering skills, with experience collaborating across finance and data domains to deliver actionable recommendations
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, delivering high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
- Demonstrate high ownership, accountability and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Effective communication, presentation and influencing skills in a matrixed organization with the ability to present complex analyses to executive audiences.
- Demonstrates curiosity and openness to work across multiple Finance data domains and business processes.
- Strong organizational skills, adept at managing multiple projects and integrating data from diverse sources.
