Job summary

RSM is seeking experienced Fund Accounting professionals for our Fund Services+ team in India. You will own end-to-end real estate property accounting, prepare financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance across multiple client engagements.

You will collaborate with a global team, mentor junior staff, and support onboarding of new clients. A strong accounting background and client-service mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Fund Accounting.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting CPA and/or CA preferred
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and highly organised
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, team player, upholds personal and professional integrity, and maintains a positive attitude.
• Possesses effective oral and written communication skills, as well as influencing skills and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the real estate property accounting, end-to-end responsibilities for property accounting.
• Prepare/review monthly, quarterly, and annual workpapers and financial statements variance analysis.
• Ensure proper accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are maintained per GAAP.
• Handle bookkeeping: cash booking, accruals, assets/depreciation, leases, CAM, fees, loans, AR, budgets.
• Support queries from client, property/fund accounting team, regulators and auditors.
• Assist onboarding of new clients, set up entities/assets and build reports.
• Create SOPs and checklists for processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with global team members to manage day-to-day operations and month-end close.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

RSM’s Fund Services+ within our Financial Consulting practice is a dedicated team of experienced professionals who specialise in providing managed services Real Estate Groups for fund administration, helping to navigate end to end property technical accounting, assisting with financial reporting requirements, fund performance measurements and supporting Management to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their accounting and finance functions through an integrated, streamlined technology platform. With our blend of deep technical knowledge, real estate industry experience, and property accounting know-how, we can provide an integrated team of fund administrators, valuation and tax specialists, and other subject matter experts who can help manage the day-to-day back-office functions for Real Estate funds. It’s a global integrated team with transactional to strategic capabilities and comprehensive areas of specialization drawing on our entire RSM market leading organisation.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assume ownership of the real estate property accounting, encompassing complete end-to-end responsibilities for property accounting.
• Prepare/review monthly/quarterly/annual workpapers and financial statements variance analysis.
• Ensure that proper accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are maintained and that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP requirements.
• Handle bookkeeping for entity’s operations which includes cash booking, expense accruals, assets and depreciation accounting, leases, asset management fees, loan draw packages, CAM, commercial billing, AR ageing, actual vs budget, acquisitions, dispositions, Lender compliance etc.
• Support with queries from client, property/fund accounting team, regulatory authorities and external auditors.
• Assist with onboarding new clients, setting up the entities, assets and build customised reports in line with client’s reporting requirements.
• Create SOPs and checklists for various processes to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Work collaboratively with global team members to manage day-to-day operations, implemented month-end close processes and provide client servicing.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to new or junior team members.
