Modulr Finance Limited in Mumbai is seeking a Finance Transformation Manager to own finance change and end-to-end delivery across the finance function on-site. You will shape how Finance runs across systems, controls and processes in a fast-scaling payments business.

You will lead transformation initiatives, own NetSuite change, manage a structured project portfolio and coordinate with Technology, vendors and external advisers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering Finance change and systems projects end-to-end (ideally ERP like NetSuite).
• Strong project management discipline across scope, RAID governance, UAT and handover.

Purpose of the Role

You will lead, govern and deliver Finance transformation, systems change and operational improvement across Modulr's Finance function. You will ensure Finance has scalable, controlled and well-documented processes, effective systems, clear ownership and robust project governance, working across Financial Control, FP&A, Finance Operations, Product, Technology, People, Legal, Risk, Compliance, external advisers and system vendors. The role reports into the Director of Financial Control and supports the CFO and wider Finance leadership.

Key Responsibility

Lead Finance transformation and continuous improvement

• Lead Finance transformation initiatives across Financial Control, FP&A, Finance Operations, Payroll, Billing and Treasury.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, automate and strengthen Finance processes, facilitating workshops to move from current to future state.
• Develop workplans and implementation approaches that are practical, controlled and capable of being adopted by the relevant teams.

Own NetSuite and Finance systems change

• Act as the Finance-side owner for NetSuite change requirements, enhancements and adoption - scoping, prioritising, testing and coordinating changes.
• Manage Finance requirements for approvals, cost centres, entities, country packs, billing logic, reporting, integration and data integrity.
• Coordinate UAT, release planning, defect tracking and Finance sign-off, working with Coefficient, Oracle and Technology teams to resolve issues.
• Support decisions on licenses, add-ons, system capability and renewals, ensuring NetSuite remains a reliable source of truth, alongside tools such as Web expenses and TravelPerk.

Govern the Finance project portfolio

• Maintain a structured view of Finance initiatives, priorities, owners, dependencies and status.
• Create and maintain RAID logs, action trackers and decision logs, giving visibility of delivery risks, blockers and decision points.
• Support prioritisation with Finance leadership and prepare concise updates for finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Apply a structured, control-led project framework from discovery and problem definition through scope, planning and governance.
• Lead solution design workshops and translate Finance requirements into clear specifications for Technology, vendors and implementation partners.
• Coordinate UAT, testing and validation, then go-live readiness, change readiness and controlled handover into BAU.
• Run post-implementation reviews to confirm benefits, capture lessons learned and close residual risks.

Support new entity, jurisdiction and regulatory change

• Lead or support Finance readiness for new entities and jurisdictional expansion - payroll, bank accounts, NetSuite setup, tax, transfer pricing and regulatory reporting.
• Liaise with external advisers including KPMG, Deloitte and other specialists, and support tax, regulatory and compliance evidence gathering.
• Ensure Finance impacts are identified, tracked and delivered in a controlled way, with handover to BAU once stable.

Manage vendors, advisers and third parties

• Manage day-to-day Finance engagement with key vendors and external advisers, coordinating requests, requirements, actions and escalations.
• Challenge unclear scope, costs, delays or outputs, keeping vendor activity aligned to Finance timelines, priorities and controls.
• Support commercial awareness around licences, implementation costs, support arrangements and renewals.

Embed controls, auditability and risk management

• Embed control considerations into Finance change from the design stage - approvals, evidence, segregation of duties, documentation and audit trails.
• Identify operational, financial, regulatory and data risks, and maintain risk and issue logs with owners, mitigations and escalation routes.
• Support audit evidence gathering and walkthroughs for areas impacted by Finance change.

Lead stakeholders and build capability

• Build strong relationships across Finance, Product, Technology, People, Legal, Risk, Compliance and external partners, communicating complex issues in a concise, decision-focused way.
• Support senior leaders with updates, analysis, options, risks and recommendations, and facilitate alignment where ownership spans functions.
• Provide coaching and practical support to Finance colleagues, create training materials and system guidance, and promote consistent project, documentation and risk disciplines.

Person Specification

• Confident using AI tools to draft documentation, analyse information, map processes and improve productivity.
• Proven experience delivering Finance change, transformation and systems projects end-to-end - ideally involving an ERP such as NetSuite - from discovery through to post-implementation.
• Strong project management discipline across scope, planning, RAID governance, UAT, handover and benefits realisation.
• Solid Finance process knowledge across R2R, P2P, and O2C with a strong controls, audit and documentation mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder management - able to translate Finance needs for technical, operational and vendor teams and communicate concisely to senior leaders.
• Experience of new entity or multi-jurisdiction setup and working with external advisers (e.g. KPMG, Deloitte, tax and payroll providers).
• Experience in a regulated financial services or fintech environment.
