Role Overview
This Assistant Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end execution of Taxation and Statutory Compliance functions within Company’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire taxation framework for Vastu Housing Finance, covering both Direct Tax (Income Tax) and Indirect Tax (GST).
- Lead the monthly GST compliance cycle, including the timely filing of GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B returns.
- Execute detailed monthly reconciliations of GSTR-2A/2B with internal purchase records to ensure accurate Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims.
- Prepare, verify, and file Annual GST Returns (GSTR-9) and Reconciliation Statements (GSTR-9C).
- Oversee end‑to‑end TDS compliance, including accurate deduction, deposit, and quarterly filing of returns (Form 24Q, 26Q) and issuance of Form 16/16A.
- Compute and manage corporate tax requirements, including Advance Tax payments and Deferred Tax calculations.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for seamless completion of Tax Audits (Form 3CD) and ensure timely filing of Corporate Income Tax Returns (ITR).
- Coordinate with internal and statutory auditors of the Company.
- Represent the company before Tax Authorities for various assessments, appeals, and legal scrutiny cases.
- Ensure accuracy in all tax‑related accounting entries and statutory financial reporting.
- Provide expert internal advisory on tax‑efficient strategies for the company.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- In‑depth knowledge and practical experience in both Direct and Indirect Taxation.
- Relevant experience: 2–4 years of post‑qualification experience in a taxation role; experience in NBFC/BFSI sector is an added advantage.
- Statutory knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and GST laws/amendments.
- Financial systems: Proficiency in using Tally Prime or similar ERP systems for financial accounting.
- Advanced Excel: Expert‑level skills in Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP for handling and reconciling large financial datasets.
- Precision: A high degree of accuracy in tax computations, documentation, and statutory filings.
- Communication: Ability to clearly explain complex tax implications to internal stakeholders and management.
