Job summary

FOLKS seeks an experienced finance professional to join our Corporate Accounting team in Mumbai, supporting global accounting operations across regions. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will manage month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, audits, and cross‑functional finance workflows.

You will collaborate with international stakeholders, optimize controls, and drive process improvements using NetSuite and other systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Professional qualification such as CA/CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
  • Multinational experience and Australian finance exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day corporate accounting activities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, financial reports, and schedules.
  • Assist with audit, compliance, and financial controls.
  • Support financial reporting and cross-functional finance operations.
  • Collaborate with regional and international stakeholders across time zones.
  • Drive process improvements and standardization across finance.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure policy compliance.
  • Utilize NetSuite and other finance systems for reporting.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Corporate Accounting team in a fast-paced multinational environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the Australian finance function and broader global accounting operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing core accounting activities, supporting financial reporting and compliance requirements, and driving process improvements. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with international stakeholders.

This role will report directly to the Financial Controller and will work closely with the broader finance and corporate accounting teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support day-to-day corporate accounting activities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with audit, compliance, and financial control activities.
  • Support financial reporting and cross-functional finance operations.
  • Collaborate with regional and international stakeholders to ensure efficient finance processes.
  • Drive process improvements, standardization, and operational efficiencies across the finance function.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Utilize NetSuite and other finance systems to support reporting and accounting operations.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis, reporting, and support to finance leadership as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably within multinational organizations or global finance environments.
  • Experience supporting international finance functions, including Australian finance operations, is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to shared services, media, entertainment, visual effects, or project-based industries will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and accounting controls.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
  • Understanding of audit processes, compliance requirements, and financial governance.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
