Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an AVP, Analytics Data Steward (L10) to lead governance across data privacy and data transmission operations in partnership with Risk and IT. You will enable consistent data handling through stewardship, process execution, training, and documentation, while delivering analytics and reporting to track throughput, quality, compliance, and adoption.

The role supports PII data discovery governance, outbound data sharing oversight, and consumer rights, coordinating remediation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with 5+ years in technology, finance, or analytics, or 7+ years in data management in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years in data governance, privacy governance, or risk/compliance including data discovery and outbound data sharing oversight.
• Experience defining KPIs/KRIs and creating dashboards for senior leadership.
• Experience developing procedural docs, job aids, and training materials.
• Knowledge of privacy regulations and governance tools; familiarity with ServiceNow and data catalog tools such as Collibra.
• Advanced Excel and Office skills for analysis and presentations; Tableau experience is a plus.
• Experience with Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros; ability to work independently.

AVP, Analytics Data Steward (L10)

Supports enterprise Data Governance, data privacy and data transmission operations by partnering with Risk (Legal/Compliance) and IT stakeholders.

Enables consistent data handling practices through stewardship support, process execution, training, and documentation, and provides analytics and reporting to monitor throughput, quality, compliance, and program adoption.

Contributes to risk reduction and regulatory readiness by supporting PII data discovery governance, outbound data sharing oversight, and consumer rights.

Supports PII data discovery and scoping operations, including scan monitoring/triage, exception management, and coordination of remediation actions with responsible teams.

Supports outbound data sharing governance with third parties by managing the request process, overseeing workflow, expediting emergency requests, supporting process questions/issues, and ensuring timely progression through required approvals.

Communicates requirements for workflow enhancements with the Data Sourcing team and conducts UAT testing of workflow changes and the impact of platform upgrades.

Routinely engages with the Supplier Management, Legal, and Information Security teams to support timely risk assessment coordination, issue resolution, and completion of required approvals.

Supports governance automation and workflow optimization initiatives to reduce manual effort in risk intake, assessment, tracking, and reporting.

Develops and maintains governance analytics and reporting, including operational and risk KPIs/KRIs, dashboards, and executive summaries of operational throughput, compliance, remediation progress, and program adoption.

Identifies process efficiencies and deficiencies using data and operational insights; produces recommendations, proposes control enhancements, and supports implementation of process improvements and standardization.

Participates in analysis of platform defects and data issues, supports triage, root cause documentation, remediation planning, and execution tracking.

Manages development, enhancement, and standardization of governance documentation (policies, procedures, playbooks, job aids) and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in technology, finance, or analytics; or 7+ years of relevant Data Management experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of experience in data governance, privacy governance, or risk mitigation/compliance, including data discovery, stewardship operations, and outbound data sharing oversight.
• Experience in defining KPIs/KRIs and creating dashboards and reporting for senior leadership.
• Experience developing and maintaining procedural documentation, job aids, and training materials.
• Knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations and frameworks relevant to governance operations; familiarity with privacy/governance platforms and workflow tools such as ServiceNow and data catalog/business glossary tools such as Collibra is a plus.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) for analysis, reporting, and stakeholder presentations.
• Experience with reporting/visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus.
• Experience in using Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP function, and macros.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent work ethic, high energy, and customer orientation.
