Job summary

Airbound in Bangalore is seeking a hands-on field operations assistant for ground deployments. The role requires outdoor work, lifting 1–5 kg payloads, and assisting with field setup and equipment handling.

Prior field ops experience is helpful but not mandatory, and a 10th/12th pass is preferred. The position is based at Bommasandra, Bangalore with a stipend of INR 18,000–22,000 per month, health insurance, and a transport stipend.

Qualifications

• Role is focused on ground operations and does not lead to pilot-track roles.

Responsibilities

• Core Flight Operations: swap batteries, install payloads (1–5 kg), perform pre-flight checks, monitor batteries and equipment.
• Field Setup & Equipment Handling: set up/dismantle tents and field infrastructure, manage inventory, keep site organized, assist loading/unloading.
• General Operational Support: run errands, transport payloads, follow checklists and maintain logs.
• Safety & Protocol: follow operating procedures, maintain safety awareness, handle equipment safely.

About Airbound

Our mission is to make a world where everyone has access to delivery. Where goods move as freely as information moves today.

This is possible. Today the cost of moving on a scooter is ₹2/km. That’s the cost of moving a 150kg mass from point A to B. We’re bringing that mass down to less than 5kgs, concurrently bringing the cost down to 10 paise/km. This is how we make deliveries a reality. This is how we create a world where we’re doing billions of deliveries per day.

The tech is not there. The current cost of drone delivery is ₹100/km. We need to completely redefine the way things are done here. We’re building the world’s most efficient aircraft from the ground-up, and scaling that up to beyond anything the aerospace sector has ever seen. This cannot be an iterative process. We have to tear down all conventions and build everything up from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Flight Operations

• Swap drone batteries throughout the day following standard procedures.

• Install, secure, and verify payloads (1–5 kg).

• Conduct basic pre-flight checks and ensure the aircraft is ready for launch.

• Monitor readiness of batteries, payloads, and equipment and report any issues immediately.

Field Setup & Equipment Handling

• Set up and dismantle tents, tables, and basic field infrastructure.

• Move and organize inventory, payloads, and on-site equipment.

• Keep the field site clean, organized, and operationally efficient.

• Assist with loading/unloading equipment during deployments.

General Operational Support

• Run basic errands for operations (supplies, food/water for team, small field needs).

• Transport payloads or goods for last-mile delivery when required.

• Follow checklists carefully and maintain accurate logs.

Safety & Protocol

• Follow Airbound operating procedures without skipping steps.

• Maintain awareness of on-field risks and elevate concerns early.

• Handle equipment safely and systematically.

Who You Are

• Disciplined, punctual, and consistent in following procedures.

• Comfortable with manual/physical tasks and working outdoors.

• Practical, alert, and able to handle on-field challenges.

• Willing to learn and committed to supporting reliable flight operations.

• Communicates clearly and works well with the team.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in field operations, logistics, warehouse support, or similar roles is helpful but not mandatory.

• Comfortable lifting and handling 1–5 kg payloads regularly.

• Able to work outdoors for extended periods.

• No driver’s license required.

• Basic technical or mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Stipend: INR 18,000 - 22,000 per month + Health Insurance + Transport Stipend

Minimum 10th/12th pass preferred; this is a strictly hands‑on field role and is not suitable for degree holders seeking desk work. The role is not for UAV pilots. This position is focused on ground operations and does not lead to pilot‑track roles.
