Job summary

WorleyParsons in Mumbai invites applications for a Field Engineer II to lead the quality team on construction sites. You will manage quality control across structures, piping, and equipment, aligning with contract standards and NDT procedures.

You will wear multiple hats, including coordinating QA activities and ensuring compliance with project requirements. The role requires extensive experience in oil & gas or chemicals, familiarity with ASME/IS standards, and ASNT NDT Level II certification.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of quality control of construction activities related to structural works, piping, and equipment (static as well as rotary).
  • Well conversant with the requirements of various applicable standards (Indian Standards, ASME etc.).
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements, general contract requirements and interpretation of contract clauses.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Quality engineers at project site for management and control of quality of construction activities.
  • Review the Quality Management Plan and implement it during construction.
  • Assign/distribute work to Quality engineers and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with discipline engineers to review contractor’s quality plans, inspection test plans, job procedures, NDE procedures, and approval.
  • Review and establish PQR & WPS; witness welder qualification test.
  • Collaborate with discipline engineers to perform inspections and tests per approved quality plans.
  • Perform inspection of NDT testing and PWHT; review NDT reports including radiography.
  • Issue mechanical clearance and NDE clearance; carry out punch lists.

The Role

As a Field Engineer II with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

  • Responsible to lead the team of Quality engineers at project site for management and control of quality of construction activities.
  • Review the Quality Management Plan developed for the project and update, as required. Implement the Quality Management Plan during construction phase of the project.
  • Assign/distribute works/work areas to the Quality engineers and ensure that the engineers
  • Understand the requirements of construction quality specified in the contract agreement of the contractors
  • Collaborate with the discipline engineers in review of the contractor’s quality plans, inspection test plans, job procedures, NDE procedures, Inspection checklists etc. and accord approval.
  • Review and establish PQR & WPS. Witness welder qualification test.
  • Collaborate with the team of discipline engineers, as required, to perform inspections and tests as per the approved quality plans.
  • Perform inspection of NDT testing and PWHT etc. as per approved quality plans. Perform review and interpretation of all NDT test reports including Radiography films.
  • Issue mechanical clearance and NDE clearance.
  • Carry out inspection and issue punch lists, as applicable, for various systems.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection/witness hydro tests, pneumatic tests, and flushing
  • Maintain the Quality documents of the project, in collaboration with the Document Controller (if applicable), including calibration reports, test results, qualification records, inspection requests
    & reports, non-conformance reports, and request for information etc.
  • Coordination and tracking of RFIs and their status.
  • Guide the material management team for preservation and proper storage of materials.
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution for Quality issues, in coordination with Home Office.
  • Develop schedule of technical audits of the contractors and perform technical audits in collaboration with the discipline engineers.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Quality Assurance team for the Quality Assurance audits at site.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

  • Job Specific Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of quality control of construction activities related to structuralworks, piping, and equipment (static as well as rotary).
    • Well conversant with the requirements ofvarious applicable standards (Indian Standards, ASME etc.).
    • Knowledge of statutory requirements,general contract requirements and interpretation of contract clauses.
  • Industry Specific Experience: Graduate Engineers with minimum 15 years of experience with minimum3 years of experience of working as Lead Engineer/Area Manager/Superintendent in Oil & Gas Sector andChemicals.
  • Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate in Mechanical Engineering. ASNT NDT Level II certification.
  • HSE Capability: Knowledge of safe methods of execution of construction activities for the respectivediscipline.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office.
  • People Skills: Team Player, interpersonal skills.
  • Other: Adaptable, open towards learning and development, person of integrity and possess goodcommunication skills.
