Role Summary

The Field Application Engineer position is the technical interface for AMD’s embedded products with embedded customers in the INDIA region. The Engineer will provide technical support for AMD’s embedded products, particularly FPGA and embedded x86 products, helping AMD drive a new era of embedded computing by engaging with large INDIA end customers to demonstrate how AMD technology can address their business needs. The role focuses on pre‑sales and development support activity as opportunities transition from opportunity to deployment, building confidence with key customer influencers and overcoming technical objections. Post‑sales technical support is also required, including handling technical escalations and accelerating resolutions. The Engineer must have a strong technical knowledge base, be effective in communication with customers and internal AMD stakeholders, and be proficient in troubleshooting embedded platforms, system and module‑level design evaluations, and developing reference designs.

Primary Focus of the FAE

• Develop technical relationships with target end customer accounts
• Win new embedded opportunities at end customers by establishing technical solutions based on AMD technology
• Work with AMD internal teams across AMD Business Units to build technical presentations and documentation to be delivered in the field
• Deliver technical presentations and sales pitches to influence new AMD sales with customers and partners

This position requires a broad technical understanding of embedded applications, especially in the communications segment, and may require specialized knowledge of microprocessor and FPGA architectures. Embedded knowledge including operating systems, BIOS & firmware is a plus.

Job Requirements & Desired Skills

• The preferred candidate should have a combination of relevant academic and professional experience. The minimum qualifications associated with this position are Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 10+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 8+ years of experience.
• Solid hands‑on experience with Vivado Design Suite and/or ISE
• Deep level knowledge of FPGA architecture
• Familiarity with various protocols and interfaces like Ethernet, PCIe, DDR etc
• Must demonstrate excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage complex problems involving multi‑disciplined, cross‑functional teams
• High energy, results‑driven mentality with strong people/leadership skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise. Must be a team player with excellent collaborative skills and superior written and oral communication skills
