Job summary

dSPACE is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support Aerospace & Defence customers across India. You will provide technical consulting, demonstrations, PoCs, deployment support and project execution for advanced simulation and Model-Based Development workflows.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with dSPACE platforms, real-time simulation, HIL testing, embedded systems, and V&V workflows, and is willing to travel across India for customer meetings and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, CS or related field.
• 5+ years in Aerospace, Defence, Embedded Systems, Simulation, Testing, Validation or Application Eng roles.
• Strong knowledge of MBD, embedded software development, and real-time testing/simulation.
• Experience with customer interactions and deployments; strong communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor for Aerospace & Defence customers throughout pre- and post-sales engagements.
• Recommend optimal dSPACE-based solutions for simulation, testing, validation and rapid control prototyping.
• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops and PoC activities.
• Support deployment, configuration, integration and commissioning of dSPACE hardware and software.
• Collaborate with sales to build proposals and architectures, and work with global teams on complex requirements.
• Deliver customer training and technical workshops; develop documentation and success stories.

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused and technically strong Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support Aerospace & Defence customers across India. The role involves technical consulting, pre-sales engagements, solution demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, deployment support, and project execution for advanced simulation, testing, validation, and Model-Based Development (MBD) solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with dSPACE platforms, real-time simulation environments, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, embedded systems development, and verification & validation workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical advisor for Aerospace & Defence customers throughout pre-sales and post-sales engagements.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend optimal dSPACE-based solutions for simulation, testing, validation, and rapid control prototyping applications.
• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and Proof-of-Concept (PoC) activities.
• Support deployment, configuration, integration, and commissioning of dSPACE hardware and software platforms.

Provide application consulting in:

• Model-Based Development (MBD)
• Software-in-the-Loop (SIL)
• Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Embedded Control Systems
• Collaborate with sales teams to build technical proposals, solution architectures, and customer evaluations.
• Work closely with global engineering and support teams to address complex technical requirements.
• Deliver customer training, technical workshops, and project acceptance activities.
• Develop technical documentation, application notes, and customer success stories.
• Engage with emerging technologies and customer applications across:
• UAVs & Autonomous Systems
• Flight Control Systems
• Propulsion Systems
• Mission-Critical Embedded Systems

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Aerospace, Defence, Embedded Systems, Simulation, Testing, Validation, or Application Engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of:
• Model-Based Design (MBD)
• Embedded Software Development
• Verification & Validation Methodologies
• Real-Time Testing & Simulation
• Experience working directly with customers and supporting technical evaluations or deployments.
• Excellent presentation, communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel across India for customer meetings, demonstrations, training, and project support.
