RSM's India Global Capability Center is seeking a dedicated property accounting professional to own end-to-end real estate accounting, including lease accounting, depreciation, and related financial statements in line with GAAP. You will prepare variance analyses, maintain internal controls, collaborate with global teams, and mentor junior staff while onboarding new clients and building customized reports.

Candidates should have 2–5 years in property accounting, an accounting undergraduate

Qualifications

• Must have 2–5 years in property accounting with funds managers or fund admins.
• Ability to interpret property agreements and structures for RE entities.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting.
• CPA and/or CA preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of property accounting platforms (Yardi; MRI a plus).
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and organized.

• Adaptable to dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple projects.

Responsabilités

• Handle entity bookkeeping, including cash, accruals, assets, leases, CAM, and AR aging.
• Respond to queries from clients, fund accounting teams, regulators and auditors.
• Assist onboarding of new clients and setup of entities and reports.
• Create SOPs and checklists to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with global teams to manage day-to-day operations and month-end close.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assume ownership of the real estate property accounting, encompassing complete end-to-end responsibilities for property accounting.
• Prepare/review monthly/quarterly/annual workpapers and financial statements variance analysis.
• Ensure that proper accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are maintained and that all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP requirements.
• Handle bookkeeping for entitys operations which includes cash booking, expense accruals, assets and depreciation accounting, leases, asset management fees, loan draw packages, CAM, commercial billing, AR aging, actual vs budget, acquisitions, dispositions, Lender compliance etc.
• Support with queries from client, property/fund accounting team, regulatory authorities and external auditors.
• Assist with onboarding new clients, setting up the entities, assets and build customized reports in line with client’s reporting requirements.
• Create SOPs and checklists for various processes to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Work collaboratively with global team members to manage day-to-day operations, implemented month-end close processes and provide client servicing.
• Offer mentorship and guidance to new or junior team members.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in property accounting domain with fund managers or fund administrators or public accounting firms
• Ability to interpret/applying the financial and operational terms of Property related agreements and Structures for RE entities.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting
• CPA and/or CA preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Property accounting platforms (Yardi and MRI knowledge is a large PLUS!)
• Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and highly organized
