Job summary

Stripe in Bengaluru is seeking a senior FP&A leader to partner with finance and business leaders, drive long-term financial planning, and mentor a team of analysts. You will build forecasts, slice data across regions, and develop dashboards to inform strategy.

The role combines 50% IC work and 50% people management, requires 8+ years in FP&A with 2+ years leading teams, strong SQL/Python, and the ability to collaborate across time zones.

Qualifications

• 8+ years FP&A/strategic finance experience with 2+ years managing a team.
• Experience owning planning and forecasting across headcount, operating expenses, and/or revenue.
• Strong financial-analysis fundamentals, including budgeting and forecasting, month-end close support, and budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
• Ability to retain a defined IC portfolio alongside people-management responsibilities (~50% IC, 50% Manager).

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

• 8+ years of relevant FP&A, strategic finance, or business-finance experience with 2+ years managing a team
• Experience owning planning and forecasting processes across headcount, operating expenses, and/or revenue.
• Strong financial-analysis fundamentals, including budgeting and forecasting, month-end close support, and budget-versus-actual variance analysis.
• The ability to manage and develop a small team of analysts, including setting priorities, reviewing work, coaching, and creating clear accountability.
• Ability to retain a defined individual-contributor portfolio alongside people-management responsibilities. ~50% IC work, 50% Manager responsibilities.
• Strong SQL and/or Python skills, with demonstrated ability to automate recurring analyses and improve finance workflows through AI-enabled tools and automation.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, independently develop a point of view, and drive cross-functional projects to completion.
• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with a track record of acting as a trusted, objective finance partner to business leaders.
• Experience working effectively across regions, time zones, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

Experience in a strategic finance function at a high-growth tech company, preferably in the payments/fintech space

• Advanced knowledge of SQL or Python
• Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools
