Global Facilities Operations (GFO) is an organization within Engineering Operations and Services that is responsible for Facilities management, workplace services, laboratory equipment maintenance, and laboratory services at Amgen sites globally. GFO’s mission is to provide a safe, reliable, and productive work environment for Amgen colleagues in our offices, laboratories, and manufacturing plants. GFO works closely with third‑party Integrated Service Providers (ISPs) to deliver these services seamlessly to the business worldwide.

Facilities Manager (Level 5)

Global Facilities Operations (GFO) is an organization within Engineering Operations and Services that is responsible for Facilities management, workplace services, laboratory equipment maintenance and laboratory services at Amgen sites globally. GFO’s mission is to provide a safe, reliable, and productive work environment to our Amgen colleagues in our offices, laboratories, and manufacturing plants. GFO works very closely with third-party Integrated Service Providers (ISPs) at delivering these services seamlessly to the business around the globe.

Responsibilities

Implement the overall facility management strategy for Amgen India Genome Valley: work closely with AIN site leadership and key functional groups such as R&D, EHSS, and Security to execute facility management and lab support services strategies, ensuring reliable, safe delivery of fit‑for‑purpose operations at our Genome Valley site. Demonstrate operational excellence to drive productivity and improve service levels.
Integrated Service Provider (ISP) performance management: ensure ISP work product aligns with the GFO strategy and complies with Amgen processes and procedures. Monitor that providers meet agreed SLAs and performance metrics.
Budget and financial management: manage the GFO operational budget, including budgeting, purchase order management, and contract management.
Emergency management and business continuity: collaborate with EHSS and Security to provide emergency management leadership, building evacuations, and business continuity during crisis situations.

Basic Qualifications

15+ years of experience in a lead role delivering Facilities management and site services within a large multi‑national organization.
OR Graduate degree and 12 years’ experience in facilities management or related areas such as Security, Environmental Health & Safety, capital construction projects or other highly operational roles.
OR Master’s degree and 10 years’ experience in Facilities management or related areas such as Security, Environmental Health & Safety, capital construction projects or other operational roles.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in customer service delivery with demonstrated accountability and ownership.
Experience managing the performance of third‑party integrated service providers; proficient in supplier management, performance and contract management.
Knowledge of facilities work order management processes and systems, maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
Budget Management: forecasting, purchase order and invoice approval, budget adherence, contract negotiation, vendor management or supply chain experience.
Familiarity with major Telangana labor laws, regulations, and works council requirements.
Understanding of EHSS requirements within a laboratory facility, including country, state and local regulations.
Self‑motivated, proactive, independent, adaptable, and flexible with changing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, presentation and facilitation skills; able to navigate conflict resolution diplomatically.
Familiarity within the life sciences industry, utilities systems, laboratories, manufacturing and regulatory standards around discovery, development, and production of human therapeutics.
Experience driving productivity through operational excellence and continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, Six‑Sigma, etc.
Ability to interpret industry trends, new technologies, benchmarking and best practices implementation.
