Job summary

Sobha Glazing and Metal Works in Bangalore is seeking a Facade Design Engineer with 1–3+ years of experience in structural design for facades. You will analyze, design, and specify aluminum, steel, glass components and anchorage methods. Collaboration with architects and fabricators is essential to meet project specs.

Responsibilities include 2D/3D modeling, drawing reviews, and ensuring compliance with global and local codes. Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools and wind/seismic design is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
• 1–3+ years of facade structural design experience.
• Familiarity with curtain wall and building envelope systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of facade systems.

• Calculate wind loads, dead loads, seismic loads, thermal movements, and other design criteria.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design reports, and technical submissions.
• Verify mullions, transoms, brackets, anchors, fixings, and glass thickness requirements.
• Develop detailed facade design drawings and fabrication drawings.
• Create 2D and 3D models using CAD and BIM software.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and design standards.
• Review shop drawings and manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with architects, structural consultants, contractors, and project teams.
• Coordinate with procurement and fabrication teams for material optimization.
• Ensure designs comply with ASTM, AAMA, EN, BS standards and local codes.
• Support mock-up testing and performance testing activities.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

• 1 to 3+ years of experience in facade structural design.
• Experience in commercial high-rise, residential, airport, hospital, or mixed-use developments.
• Familiarity with curtain wall and building envelope systems.
