Job summary

EY in India seeks a qualified accounting professional to support Financial Accounting and Reporting with IFRS/GAAP expertise. The role involves GAAP conversions, policy drafting, and advising on country-specific reporting rules, including UK GAAP, for FAAS engagements.

You will collaborate with Managers, oversee deliverables, and help optimize processes while maintaining compliance with firm policies and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA.
  • 2–5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in financial reporting and GAAP conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing engagement delivery for financial accounting and reporting.
  • Support GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards.
  • Draft accounting policies and technical memorandums.
  • Provide guidance on UK-focused reporting requirements and country allocations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and review team outputs for accuracy.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality client service and delivery of reports.

Our innovation specialists serve the GDS Client Service and Enablement Services teams, along with Service Lines, Core Business Services and Sectors. The Opportunity

We’re looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per Project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of financial reporting activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting in Managing engagement delivery Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.
  • Assistance in providing advice and assisting client team in accounting change (First time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition), accounting policy manuals and technical accounting memorandums
  • Understanding of the reporting requirements relevant to the countries allocated (specific focus on UK based companies), as allocated to your team
  • Receive direction from the Manager and Senior Manager
  • Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders. Be compatible with business accounting teams and internal partners to resolve issues
  • Detailed review of the work performed by the team members
  • Review of metrics reporting for significant processes
  • Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status
  • Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situation
  • Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution.
  • Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.
Skills and attributes for success
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, UK GAAP etc
  • Extensive experience in the following areas
    • Financial statement preparation and consolidation process
    • GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards
    • Drafting accounting policies and writing technical memorandums
  • Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. business combinations, consolidation, debt/equity etc.)
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA
  • 2-5 years relevant experience
