Job summary

EY Bengaluru seeks an Associate Manager in Corporate Finance to lead valuation engagements, mentor staff and deliver insights on business value and assets. You will work on GAAP/IFRS reporting, complex securities and strategic initiatives.

The role offers exposure to EY's global client base and learning opportunities within Corporate Finance. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across EY, develop financial models, and communicate findings to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in valuation with national or accounting firms is preferred.
• Hands-on valuation using PPA, DCF, Income Approach or market comparables.
• Progress towards CFA/ASA/CPA or related certification is desirable.
• Strong communication, project management and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax and planning.
• Supervise engagement teams delivering intangible and asset valuations.
• Engage in equity and portfolio valuation work, including PWERM/Level 3 methods.
• Develop models and documents; perform research and reporting.
• Maintain client relationships and collaborate across EY offices globally.

Associate Manager – Corporate Finance

As part of our EY-Corporate Finance practice, you will help clients understand the value of their business, securities, intellectual property, capital equipment, intangibles and other assets. The group is comprised of several key areas, including business valuation, business modelling, capital equipment and complex securities.

The opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead valuation engagements for financial reporting, tax, and management planning purposes.
• Supervising engagement teams that deliver engagements for intangible business valuations for management planning; mergers and acquisitions (M&A); financial reporting; tax and regulatory compliance; restructuring and reorganization; and corporate strategy under ASC 350, ASC 718, ASC 820, ASC 946, ASC 480, ASC 805 etc.
• Exposure to engagements for portfolio valuation, equity valuation, equity allocations, Black-Scholes Option
• Pricing Model (OPM), Probability Weighted Expected Return Method (PWERM), Level 3 Asset Valuation, debt valuation.
• Experience with secondary research, report writing and detailed financial modelling.
• Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided. Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to our as well as the client's business.
• Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with EY offices globally.
• Supervise, develop and mentor professionals at the Staff and Senior level.
• Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Excellent thoughtfulness, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking and Corporate Finance
• Experience in financial modelling, including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred
• Computer proficiency, including at least one Financial Engineering or statistical software package (e.g MATLAB, Python, R), MS Excel/VBA, Word and Powerpoint.
• Exposure to databases such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg etc.
• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary

Preferably, but not mandatory, you will also have

• Few years of relevant experience with a national valuation firm or accounting firm’s business modelling practice, or in quantitative management or litigation consulting, investment banking, private equity/venture capital or commercial banking
• Some hands on valuation experience in utilizing Valuation techniques and methodologies such as Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Income Approach, market comparable, etc. in a business valuation firm or practice or in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, financial research, national valuation firm or experience working in a corporate finance role for an organization, preferably for M&A activities Experience in financial modelling including experience building models from scratch in MS Excel and related software preferred.
• Preferable achievement in or significant progress towards a CFA, ASA, CPA or related certification

Ideally, you’ll also have
