The opportunity

This role manages a team of data scientists responsible for a portfolio of diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics projects to support data-driven business decision making. Supports the continuous evolution and strategy of data science capabilities. It also applies advanced data mining techniques and statistical analysis methodologies to identify patterns across large datasets and inform strategic decisions across domains like marketing, supply chain, and economics.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assists and executes tactical plans to implement data science strategy to increase internal company performance and gain competitive advantage.
• Manages a team of data scientists responsible for a portfolio of diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics projects to support data-driven business decision making. Supports the continuous evolution and strategy of data science capabilities.
• Oversees and engages in deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making. Creates alternative model approaches to assess complex model design and advance future capabilities.
• Identifies and diagnoses data inconsistencies and errors, documents data assumptions, and forages to fill data gaps. Provides coaching to data scientists.
• Oversees the execution of large scale analytics projects. Applies significant quality control and risk assessment of the model, methodologies, outputs, and processes for major data science projects.
• Engages with internal stakeholders to understand and probe business processes in order to develop hypotheses. Brings structure to requests and translates requirements into an analytic approach.
• Leads and coaches test design, research design, and model validation. Provides statistical consultation services. Serves as the analytics expert on cross functional teams for large strategic initiatives and contributes to the growth of the analytic community.
• Evaluates new technologies and manages vendors engaged in big data analysis.
• Designs data mining frameworks and statistical protocols to extract and monitor patterns within high-volume datasets across functional business domains.
• Applies cutting-edge data science principles and machine learning techniques to create models that support strategic business initiatives across areas like marketing, economics, and operations.
• Participates in data-driven innovation by contributing to scientific research projects that aim to develop new analytical approaches and expand the organization's data capabilities.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Minimum 10 years of experience in analytical roles with progressive leadership responsibilities in data science and large-scale analytics initiatives.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong expertise in data wrangling, big data technologies, statistical modeling, and machine learning; hands-on experience with data science programming tools such as Python, R, SQL, and platforms for advanced analytics.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
• Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)
