Job summary

Gujarat International Finance Tec City (GIFT) invites a contract role to support disaster preparedness, emergency response and DRR planning. You will coordinate with utilities, local authorities and stakeholders, manage the disaster management store and deploy equipment across sites.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Objective of Role

To support effective disaster preparedness, emergency response, and recovery activities by coordinating with key stakeholders and ensuring the readiness of emergency response Resources and systems.

To strengthen disaster risk reduction and resilience through effective planning, capacity building, mock drills, awareness programs, and timely documentation.

Position type

-on contract for a period 3 years from the date of joining, extendable based on organization needs and candidates performance.

Pay Band

• Commensurate with qualifications and experience (in the pay-scale of Rs.18,000-56,900 for Executive post and Rs.21,700-69,100 for Senior Executive post as per 7th CPC)

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Disaster Management/ B.E. or B.Tech. with experience in Disaster Management.

Experience

• Mini. 2 years of experience working in government/ private/ public sector or any international agency for implementation of Disaster Management Programs.
• Technical knowhow of procurement and maintenance of Emergency Response Equipment.

Role Descriptions

• Support emergency response and recovery efforts, including coordinating with utilities, departments, local authorities, emergency services and other relevant stakeholders.
• Take charge of Disaster Management Store, maintenance of Emergency Response Equipment, procurement of new equipment and their deployment at sites.
• Assist in the review, updation and implementation of disaster management plans and SOPs in the city.
• Collaborate with communities, building disaster management officers, floor wardens and other stakeholders to raise awareness about disaster risk reduction and preparedness
• Support conducting capacity-building activities including mock drills, and disaster awareness sessions.
• Maintain documentation, data and reports related to disaster management and DRR activities and provide timely reports to the relevant authorities.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of disaster risk reduction concepts, principles and practices.
• Familiarity with disaster management frameworks, policies and guidelines in India.
• Technical knowhow of Disaster Management Store, procurement and maintenance of Emergency Response Equipment.
• Proficiency in English and local language(s), both written and verbal.
• Strong computer skills, including SAP and MS Office suite.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
