Responsibilities

• Prepare daily MIS reports detailing ROM feed and washery data.
• Distribute daily MIS reports detailing rakewise coal grade and dispatch quantities.
• Ensure SOP adherence across all lab processes.
• Manage equipment calibration schedules.
• Oversee testing of samples from Mine, Washery, and Reject Coal Yard.
• Maintain reference samples and ISO documentation records.
• Reconcile sample quantities tested by third parties.
• Deliver daily testing outcome reports to the Reporting Manager.
• Verify vendor manpower attendance and monthly lab testing expenses.
• Process monthly lab operation bills via SES.
• Verify and process monthly lab operation bills.
• Prepare MIS reports on ROM feed, washery production, dispatches, and stock levels.
• Update compliance status in Legatrix.
• Coordinate monthly seam sample submissions to CIMFR.
• Conduct site visits to monitor safety standards and third-party performance.

Job Purpose

Responsible for overseeing coal quality control, ensuring operational efficiency in lab management, and adhering to statutory compliance requirements. The role is also accountable for meticulous maintenance and organization of all records related to coal sample testing.

Coal Quality Executive

Daily Reporting And Analysis

• Prepare daily MIS reports detailing Air dried basis ADB sample analysis of ROM feed to the washery.
• Compile and distribute daily MIS reports to the reporting manager, detailing rakewise coal grade, total quantity dispatched, as well as rakewise washery reject coal grade and quantity dispatched.

Supervision Of Coal Quality Lab Operations

• Manage adherence to company SOPs across all lab processes.
• Manage the availability and Caliration schedule of laboratory equipment.
• Oversee the testing of samples from Mine, Washery, and Reject Coal Yard.
• Monitor the preservation of reference samples and maintain record as per ISO documentation standards.
• Reconcile and maintain records of sample quantities tested by third parties.
• Deliver daily reports to the Reporting Manager regarding the previous testing outcomes and sample statuses on daily basis.
• Verify vendor manpower attendance details and manage monthly lab testing expenses within the allocated budget.
• Process monthly lab operation bills via SES, ensuring accuracy and compliance with LD/credit note details.
• Verify and process monthly lab operation bills.

Statutory Compliance And Reporting

• Prepare and update daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports covering ROM feed, Washery Production, Rake Dispatches, and Stock Levels with coal grades.
• Update compliance status in the Legatrix system.
• Prepare reject reports to CCO to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Coordinate the monthly submission of seam samples to CIMFR for testing purposes (Seam IV and Seam V).

Safety Standards And Quality Reporting

• Conduct regular site visits to monitor adherence to safety standards and procedures by thirdparty equipment and manpower in the lab.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on the quality of coal samples received from Talabira, Odisha.

Technology Utilization

• Adapt to new digital tools, ensuring accurate and efficient coal quality testing and reporting.
• Utilize digital platforms to optimize daily work processes, contributing to improved accuracy and speed in coal quality assessments.
