Job summary

A major airport in India is seeking an Executive to oversee airport operations, ensuring safe and efficient activities. The role involves real-time coordination with various stakeholders, updating operational databases, and managing irregular operations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Aviation or related fields, along with 3–8 years of relevant experience. This position requires strong communication skills, flexibility to work shifts, and proficiency in airport systems. A comprehensive understanding of regulations is desirable.

Qualifications

  • 3–8 years of experience in airport operations or AOCC preferred.
  • Freshers with aviation internship may also apply.
  • Knowledge of DGCA, ICAO, and BCAS guidelines is advantageous.

Job description

To ensure the smooth functioning of airport operations by coordinating with various stakeholders through the AOCC. The Executive will act as the nerve center for all airport operational activities, monitoring, escalating, and resolving issues in real-time to ensure safe, secure, and efficient airport operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage daily airport operations from AOCC, ensuring real-time coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain constant liaison with airlines, ground handling agents, security, ATC, and terminal operations teams.
  • Update and manage the Airport Operational Database (AODB) and related systems.
  • Handle irregular operations (IROPS) such as delays, diversions, and emergencies by coordinating with all concerned departments.
  • Disseminate timely and accurate information through flight information display systems (FIDS), public address systems, and other communication platforms.
  • Maintain daily operation logs, prepare shift reports, and support decision-making by analyzing operational data.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate for VIP/VVIP movement and special flights as per protocol and instructions.
  • Respond to passenger or airline-related disruptions and coordinate mitigation measures.
Key Competencies
  • Strong understanding of airport operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis or emergency situations calmly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and airport systems like AODB, RMS, FIDS, etc.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Aviation, Airport Management, or any relevant field.
  • 3–8 years of experience in airport operations or AOCC preferred (freshers with aviation internship may also apply based on requirement).
  • Knowledge of DGCA, ICAO, and BCAS guidelines will be an advantage.
Work Conditions
  • Shift-based work in a 24x7 operational environment.
  • Based out of AOCC or operational zones as per duty rosters.
