Job Description: ETP/EHS Head
Position Overview
The ETP/EHS Head will be responsible for overseeing the Environmental Treatment Plant (ETP) operations and ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations within the chemical manufacturing facility. This role requires a strategic leader who can implement and manage EHS policies, drive sustainability initiatives, and ensure the safe operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- ETP Management
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of the ETP to ensure efficient wastewater treatment processes.
- Optimize ETP performance to meet regulatory discharge standards and improve water reuse practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of ETP operations and implement corrective actions as needed.
- EHS Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in accordance with local and international regulations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics and prepare necessary documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Risk Management
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards within the plant.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure proper reporting and corrective actions are taken.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness among all employees.
- Training and Development
- Design and implement training programs for employees on EHS protocols and best practices.
- Foster continuous improvement in EHS practices through workshops and seminars.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and stakeholders regarding EHS matters.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes.
- Sustainability Initiatives
- Identify and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of operations.
- Promote resource conservation and waste reduction strategies.
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience
- Minimum of 8‑10 years of experience in ETP management and EHS roles within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of managing EHS compliance and leading environmental initiatives.
- Skills
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices in the chemical sector.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Proficiency in EHS management software and tools.
