The role covers end-to-end sector coverage with portfolio construction oversight and collaboration with the Fund Manager. The ideal candidate has deep BFSI research across lending and non-lending segments, a track record of generating actionable ideas and contributing to portfolio returns, and MBA Finance or CA qualifications.

Qualifications

• MBA (Finance) or CA qualification mandatory.
• Around 10 years total experience with 5–6 years in BFSI equity research.
• Strong coverage across lending and non-lending sectors (banks, NBFCs, insurance, fintech, AMCs).
• Experience in buy-side research and portfolio construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Fund Manager on portfolio creation, tracking and strategy.
• Conduct fundamental and valuation research across BFSI including banks, NBFCs, insurance, broking, fintech and AMCs.
• Build and maintain financial models; perform scenario analyses and monitor valuation metrics.
• Prepare research notes, memos, and presentations for internal and client discussions.
• Liaise with management and market participants for differentiated insights and investment theses.
• Support alpha generation through bottom-up research and data-driven evaluation.
• Track sector developments and quarterly results for portfolio and watchlist companies.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced BFSI Analyst to join our buy-side investment team. The role will involve end-to-end sector coverage and close coordination with the Fund Manager on portfolio construction, tracking, and strategy. The ideal candidate should possess strong research depth across both lending and non-lending financials, with a proven record of generating actionable investment ideas and contributing to portfolio returns.

Candidates from rated sell-side firms or reputed institutions are also welcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to the Fund Manager, work closely on portfolio creation, tracking, and review.
• Conduct in-depth fundamental and valuation research across BFSI (lending and non-lending) – including banks, NBFCs, insurance, broking, fintech, and AMCs.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, perform scenario/sensitivity analyses, and monitor key valuation metrics.
• Track sectoral developments, regulatory changes, macro trends, and quarterly results for portfolio and watchlist companies.
• Provide results updates and actionable insights to the Fund Manager and investment committee.
• Contribute to investment strategy formulation aimed at optimizing portfolio performance and maximizing returns.
• Prepare research notes, quarterly updates, investment memos, and presentations for internal and client discussions.
• Liaise with company managements, industry experts, and market participants for differentiated insights and investment theses.
• Support the team in identifying alpha-generating opportunities through bottom-up research and data-driven evaluation.

Candidate Profile:

• Around 10 years of total experience, with 5–6 years dedicated to BFSI equity research.
• Strong coverage experience across lending (banks/NBFCs) and non-lending (insurance, fintech, broking, AMCs) sectors.
• Prior exposure to portfolio construction, investment tracking, and performance evaluation preferred.
• Experience in buy-side research preferred; sell-side candidates from rated/reputed firms may also apply.
• Excellent skills in financial modelling, valuation, and sector analysis.
• MBA (Finance) or CA qualification mandatory.
• Analytical mindset with strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven ability to contribute meaningfully to investment strategy and return maximization.
