Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is a global engineering and environmental consultancy delivering complex projects across the built and natural environment. The role is based at the Noida office, focusing on ecology, biodiversity, and bat data analysis within UK-influenced frameworks.

You will author ecological reports, use GIS for site scoping and biodiversity assessments, and collaborate with UK colleagues to deliver timely outcomes while developing your professional skills and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Degree in ecology/environmental sciences/environmental engineering.
• 2–4 years ecology project experience, UK region preferred.
• Experience with Anabat Insight or Kaleidoscope.
• Proficient GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS).
• Knowledge of UK Hab classification and Defra Metrics preferred.
• Ability to interpret and analyse data for reports.

Responsibilities

• Authoring technical ecological reports.

• Support with desk studies, scoping sites, records of protected species and biodiversity net gain assessments using GIS.
• Work to tight timescales and follow approved methodologies.
• Collaborate as a team member and meet deadlines.

• Prepare bids under guidance of senior staff.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic self-starter to join our team as an Environment Consultant I . This role will be based at our AtkinsR alis office in Noida.

Your role

• Authoring technical ecological reports.


• Analysing bat sound data.


• As a proficient user of GIS, supporting with desk studies, scoping sites, records of protected species and biodiversity net gain assessments.


• Working to tight timescales and following an approved methodology will be key feature of the role.


• Being a team player and delivering responsibilities by meeting deadlines.


• Developing your technical skills through Continuing Professional Development.


• Managing your own time and workload in collaboration with other team members.


• Liaising with the UK team on a daily basis and building a good working relationship.


• Managing work enquiries and preparing bids under the guidance of more senior staff.


• Carrying out additional ad hoc activities as required by process leads.

About you

• A degree in ecology/environmental sciences/environmental engineering.


• 2-4 years of experience working on ecology projects with experience in the UK region preferred.


• Experience in Anabat Insight/ Kaleidoscope.


• Proficient GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS).


• Working knowledge of UKHab classification and the Defra Metric will be preferred.


• Proficient ability to interpret, review and analyse data to produce reports.


• Understanding of UK and EU Wildlife Legislation, planning policies, and licensing requirements.


• Previous experience of working in international projects.


• Project management experience including technical, financial and quality assurance aspects.


• Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).


• Highly motivated and proactive, focused on achieving and delivering technical excellence.


• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.


• Strong in report writing, verbal communication, and presentation.


• Quick to learn and adapt on the job.


• Effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently.


• Capable of working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.


• Logical and organized in project delivery, following senior team members instructions and guidance.


• Aware of how delivery time affects financial performance and proactively manages time, resources, and budget.


• Able to identify and communicate project or team concerns to the immediate Line Manager.


• Open to discussing career goals and aspirations.


• Willing to share information and knowledge with team members.


• Demonstrates initiative and basic leadership skills to direct a small work group.
