Job summary

AIMER Business School invites applications for an Entrepreneurship in Residence (EIR) and Faculty role at MKC, Kozhikode. The incumbent will blend academic delivery with hands-on entrepreneurship mentoring for student ventures and prepare them for market validation and fundraising readiness.

Responsibilities include mentoring startup teams, designing incubator activities, delivering courses, and collaborating with industry partners to advance curriculum and experiential learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Management, Engineering, Education or related field.
• Master's degree preferred for advanced teaching and research responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Mentor student founders and venture teams through idea validation and customer discovery.
• Support students in developing business plans, financial models and growth roadmaps.
• Design and deliver entrepreneurship workshops, bootcamps and hackathons.
• Build relationships with startups, investors, incubators and industry experts.
• Identify trends and translate insights into classroom activities.
• Track progress against milestones and adjust learning plans as needed.
• Collaborate to strengthen curriculum delivery and innovation initiatives.
• Deliver undergraduate/postgraduate courses per the curriculum and calendar.

Position reports to:

Academic Director

Job Purpose:

To combine academic delivery with hands‑on entrepreneurship mentoring, enabling students to develop strong business fundamentals, validate ideas, build ventures, and gain practical exposure to the startup and industry ecosystem.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Mentor student founders and venture teams through idea validation, customer discovery, business model development and go‑to‑market planning.
• Support students in developing business plans, pitch decks, financial models, growth roadmaps and fundraising readiness.
• Design and deliver entrepreneurship workshops, bootcamps, hackathons, startup challenges and experiential learning initiatives.
• Build relationships with startups, founders, investors, incubators, accelerators and industry experts and facilitate relevant interactions for students.
• Identify emerging business, technology and market trends and translate relevant insights into classroom and venture‑learning activities.
• Track student and startup progress against defined milestones, learning outcomes and performance metrics and take corrective action where required.
• Collaborate with academic and operations teams to strengthen curriculum delivery, entrepreneurship integration, incubation and innovation initiatives.
• Contribute to academic planning, student engagement activities, institutional events, committees and other responsibilities assigned by the management.
• Deliver assigned undergraduate/postgraduate courses in line with the approved curriculum, learning outcomes and academic calendar.
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assessments, rubrics and other academic resources and maintain required academic documentation.
• Facilitate interactive, experiential and application‑oriented learning through cases, projects, simulations, discussions, presentations and industry exposure.
• Evaluate student work objectively and provide timely, constructive feedback aligned to expected learning outcomes.
• Mentor and guide students on academic progress, projects, career readiness and professional development.

Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Management, Engineering, Education or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• Relevant academic qualification in the subject areas to be taught, as required by the institution/program.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands‑on startup, entrepreneurship, innovation, business or venture‑building experience.
• Relevant teaching, training, mentoring or academic facilitation experience is preferred.
• Proven experience in launching, scaling or supporting startups/ventures and working with founders or student entrepreneurs.
• Experience with Lean Startup, Design Thinking, Agile practices and experiential/project‑based learning.
