Job summary

Verizon is seeking a driven Cybersecurity and Technology leader to join our security organization in a hybrid role based in Chennai. You will bridge architectural theory with practical implementation, leading enterprise network security across edge to core with automated, compliant, and scalable solutions.

You’ll mentor the engineering team, drive migration strategies for secure zones, and define roadmaps and standards for secure, high‑performance deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• 4+ years in enterprise network implementation, testing, and data center operations.
• Experience in DNS, Load Balancing (Citrix/F5), and IPAM.
• 2+ years in enterprise network architecture and security design.

Verizon Global Infrastructure (VGI) is looking for a driven Cybersecurity and Technology leader to join our newly formed security organization. In this high-impact role, you’ll bridge the gap between architectural theory and physical implementation. Working at the cutting edge of Zero Trust and Automation, you will turn conceptual blueprints into high-functioning reality through a rigorous, hands‑on approach. You will be responsible for the physical implementation, logical configuration, and rigorous validation of our enterprise-wide network architecture. From the edge to the core, you are the technical authority ensuring every connection is inherently secure, automated, and compliant.

What we’re looking for…

• Supporting daily operations, including internal/external stakeholder engagement and dotted-line leadership.

• Performing the end-to-end migration of the critical network management systems and IT tools into newly established, secure network zones; ensuring compliance with security vulnerabilities and risk benchmarks.

• Developing comprehensive migration strategies and dependency maps to transition tools into cloud-native frameworks with zero business disruption.

• Building automated pipelines and "Golden Config" security frameworks required for new and rapid data center zone deployment.

• Leading security configuration standards and technical oversight for core infrastructure (routers, switches, and firewalls) while collaborating with stakeholders to map traffic flows and optimize DNS and load balancing for seamless service cutovers.

• Architecting CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows using AI/Copilot frameworks and scripting to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance infrastructure scalability.

• Integrating firewalls, proxies, and identity-based security policies (IAM) across network segments to protect critical management systems and tools.

• Validating hardware through stress testing to ensure a hardened network posture across all infrastructure (Wi‑Fi, Retail systems, Firewalls, Proxies, Load Balancers)

• Designing Low Level Design (LLD) diagrams and maintaining physical topology knowledge to communicate security boundaries to implementation teams.

• Establishing strategic roadmaps and technical standards to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance network deployments.

• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team while promoting a culture of accountability and collaborative problem‑solving.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Four or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

• Four or more years of experience in enterprise network implementation, testing, and data center operations; focused specifically on DNS, Load Balancing (Citrix/F5), and IP Address Management (IPAM).

• Two or more years of experience in enterprise network architecture and security design.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Prior experience leading complex application migrations and data center consolidation projects.

• Experience building fault‑tolerant architectures and micro‑segmentation within Zero Trust (SASE/SSE) frameworks.

• Deep expertise in Next‑Gen Firewalls (NGFW), proxies, VPNs, and IAM, specifically regarding management traffic security.

• Hands‑on experience using Python and Ansible to automate configuration migrations and infrastructure scaling.

• Technical proficiency with enterprise logging and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Zabbix, SevOne).

• Strong understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows) and how they interact with network infrastructure.

• Strong alignment with NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS benchmarks across cloud‑native and hybrid environments.

• Certifications like: CISSP, CCSP, CCIE Security or related SASE certifications.
