Job summary

Rubrik, Inc. is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide the Database Platform within Rubrik Security Cloud.

This role focuses on building technically robust teams and scalable distributed systems, delivering enterprise-grade cloud and on-premise solutions, and mentoring engineers across global teams. You will drive roadmap, ensure high-velocity delivery, and collaborate closely with PM, Architects, and Program Management to align goals with customer needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 1-2 years in engineering management.
• Experience delivering enterprise-grade distributed systems.
• Experience with Cloud/SaaS and on-prem environments.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience working with cross-geo global teams.

About the Team

RSC(Rubrik Security Cloud) is the SaaS control plane for Rubrik. Our mission is to build a highly scalable and reliable cloud data management platform for the largest enterprises in the world. We build fundamental infrastructure components that all other RSC product teams at Rubrik build upon, including our microservices architecture, Kubernetes deployment system, distributed job workflow engine, and database instances(Mysql). This is an exciting time to join as we are constantly improving and innovating on each of our core layers - Kubernetes services, distributed job framework, and MySQL

The database team at Rubrik plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of the Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) platform. They are responsible for managing all metadata required to operate RSC, supporting a multi-tenant architecture that serves a diverse and growing set of customers and internal product teams.

What you'll do

• Build and drive the product component roadmap
• Provide leadership to projects from inception to implementation
• Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement with a metrics driven culture
• Provide support and guidance that enables the team to self-organize and to achieve sustained high velocity and predictability
• Help employees grow through career development, coaching, and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential
• Foster a strong collaborative mindset working closely with peers in Product Management, Architects, and Program Management to bring diverse viewpoints and goals together
• Bring a zeal for solving customer problems, work closely with Support and cascade the same passion within your team

Experience you'll need

• A passionate leader who is obsessed with building technically strong teams and has 10+ years of Software Development experience and 1-2 years in Engineering Management role
• Experience in delivering enterprise-quality scalable Distributed Systems with high quality standards and supporting a large base of customers
• Software development experience on Cloud/SaaS and on-premises platform environments
• Experience building and cultivating strong engineering practices and processes
• Experience working with cross-geo global engineering teams
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Having worked with Database, Various cloud providers is highly desirable.
