Job summary

Win Solutions is seeking an Engineering Manager to own end-to-end delivery for a large-scale cloud-based data engineering engagement on Google Cloud Platform. The role oversees a distributed team across sprints, driving planning, governance, stakeholder communication, and change management in a hybrid onshore/offshore setup.

Qualifications

• Experience leading distributed data engineering teams in Agile/Scrum using JIRA/Confluence.
• GCP data engineering knowledge to assess risks and guide architecture decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive reporting; experience managing client expectations in fixed-scope engagements.
• Servant-leadership mindset with offshore/onshore coordination and time-zone management.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders, clients, and technical teams.
• 8–10 years of experience delivering data engineering or data platform programs with hands-on data lake work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects (data lakes/pipelines) on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Drive pre-sales by engaging with clients, understanding requirements, and crafting technical proposals/PoCs.
• Manage end-to-end programme delivery across sprints for a distributed team of data engineers, leads, and analysts.
• Act as escalation point for blockers; coordinate environment readiness and release scheduling with DevOps.
• Drive stakeholder communication, change-request management, and progress reporting.
• Champion Agile best practices and a high-performance delivery culture across offshore/onshore teams.

Job Description

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to own end-to-end programme delivery for a large-scale, cloud-based data engineering engagement on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will manage a distributed team of data engineers, leads, and analysts across all sprints driving sprint planning, milestone governance, stakeholder communication, and change management while serving as the primary escalation point for blockers and dependencies and championing Agile best practices and a high-performance delivery culture across the offshore-onshore team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of large-scale data engineering projects, including data lakes and data pipelines on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Drive the pre-sales process by engaging with clients, understanding requirements, and developing technical proposals and proof of concepts (PoCs).
• Manage end-to-end programme delivery across all sprints: sprint planning, backlog prioritisation, velocity tracking, and milestone governance for a distributed team of data engineers, leads, and analysts.
• Act as the primary escalation point for blockers and dependencies; coordinate environment readiness and release scheduling with the DevOps Engineer.
• Drive stakeholder communication, change-request management, and progress reporting.
• Champion continuous improvement Agile best practices, documentation quality, and a high-performance delivery culture across the offshore-onshore team.

Required Skills

• Proven experience managing distributed data engineering teams in an Agile / Scrum framework using JIRA and Confluence.
• Sufficient GCP data engineering knowledge to assess technical risks, facilitate architecture discussions, and manage delivery trade-offs.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive reporting skills; experience managing client expectations in fixed-scope engagements.
• Servant-leadership mindset with expertise in offshore / onshore team coordination, time-zone management, and knowledge transfer.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, clients, and technical teams.
• 810 years of professional experience, including delivery and engineering management of data engineering or data platform programs, with hands-on involvement in at least one data lake implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agile / Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) or PMP.
• Experience delivering fixed-bid engagements on GCP data services.
• Experience with data governance tools like AWS Lake Formation, Azure Purview, or Google Data Catalog.
• Certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in the context of data engineering.
