Role Summary The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers delivering cloud-native and AI-enabled solutions. This role combines people leadership with technical oversight and hands‑on implementation, providing guidance, coaching, and support to engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The manager partners closely with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions, supports technical decision‑making, and helps teams navigate complex and evolving business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew.
• Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew.
• Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
• Responsible for delivering software releases relating to the product for the business units.
• Works with business clients to determine scope, and develops environmental requirements for each project.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, mentoring, and career development support for engineers and technical team members.
• Partner with engineering teams to guide technical decisions, remove delivery obstacles, and ensure alignment with established engineering standards and best practices.
• Support the successful delivery of cloud-native applications, AI-enabled solutions, APIs, and technology platforms.
• Contribute to implementation as needed, including writing and reviewing code, building prototypes and proofs of concept, and resolving complex technical issues alongside the team.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand priorities, align resources, and drive execution against strategic goals.
• Foster a culture of innovation, knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous learning across the team.
• Help teams manage competing priorities and make timely, effective decisions in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
• Monitor team health, delivery progress, operational performance, and key outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Support workforce planning, resource allocation, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning activities.
• Ensure adherence to security, risk management, compliance, and technology governance standards.
• Encourage adoption of modern engineering practices, automation, cloud technologies, and AI‑driven solutions where appropriate.
• Build strong partnerships across technical and non‑technical stakeholder groups and effectively communicate team priorities, progress, and outcomes.
• Participate in strategic initiatives and other leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 8 years of experience in IT project management, software development, or IT service delivery. Previous leadership experience required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. PMP, ITIL, or Agile certifications preferred. Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams in a technology‑driven environment.
• Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, cloud‑native application development, and technology delivery.
• Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies, AI/LLM‑powered solutions, APIs, and modern application architectures.
• Hands‑on proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, GitHub, deployment pipelines, and Agile development practices.
• Experience supporting technical decision‑making, solution delivery, and engineering execution across multiple initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Experience operating in ambiguous environments and helping teams navigate change, uncertainty, and evolving priorities.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
