Job summary

ThinkWise Consulting LLP is seeking an Engineering Manager to provide delivery governance for multiple engineering pods building an enterprise SaaS platform in data privacy and AI governance. You will own delivery outcomes, team health, staffing, and escalation-ready client communication.

The role requires strong technical credibility, hands-on leadership, and expertise in SDLC, CI/CD, and quality engineering practices across distributed teams in Hyderabad, India.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing multiple agile teams (20+ engineers) on SaaS/enterprise projects.
• Strong technical credibility in Java/Python or full-stack, with architectural discussion skills.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery governance across pods: sprint commitments, releases, milestones and quality outcomes.
• Staffing, onboarding, continuity planning and timely replacements to keep teams productive.
• Track risks, dependencies and issues; drive escalations with clients and stakeholders.
• Define and report engineering KPIs; drive improvement actions and predictability.
• Prepare status reports and steering updates for client and leadership.
• Support timesheet management, effort tracking and invoicing reconciliation.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads and AI Architect on technical direction and capacity planning.
• Coach Tech Leads and engineers; drive performance, growth and engagement.
• Ensure SDLC, security, compliance, CI/CD and DoD standards across pods.

Job description

As an Engineering Manager, you will provide delivery governance across multiple engineering pods building an enterprise-grade SaaS platform in the data privacy, data governance and AI governance space. You will own delivery outcomes, team health, staffing and continuity, and act as the main point of contact for client and leadership on delivery, risk and reporting. The role needs strong technical credibility combined with people management and engineering operations discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own delivery governance across multiple pods: sprint commitments, release plans, milestones and quality outcomes.
• Manage staffing, onboarding, knowledge transfer, continuity planning and timely replacements so teams stay fully productive.
• Track and manage risks, dependencies and issues across pods, and drive escalations to closure with client and internal stakeholders.
• Define, track and report engineering metrics (velocity, predictability, defect leakage, cycle time, test coverage) and drive improvement actions.
• Prepare regular status reports and steering-committee updates for client and Kanerika leadership.
• Support timesheet management, effort tracking and invoicing reconciliation.
• Partner with Tech Leads and the AI Architect on technical direction, capacity planning and engineering best practices.
• Coach and mentor Tech Leads and engineers, and drive performance management, career growth and team engagement.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC, security, compliance, CI/CD and definition-of-done standards across pods.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years as an Engineering Manager or Delivery Manager.
• Proven experience managing multiple agile teams (20+ engineers) on enterprise software or SaaS engagements.
• Technical background in Java, Python or full-stack development, enough to engage credibly in architecture and design discussions.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum delivery at scale, including multi-team planning, dependency management and release governance.
• Experience with staffing, resource planning, onboarding and people management.
• Hands-on experience defining and reporting engineering KPIs and delivery metrics.
• Working knowledge of Java/Spring Boot, Python, Angular, microservices and AWS/Azure cloud.
• Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, test automation and quality engineering practices.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and delivery reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI.
• Familiarity with Time & Material engagements, timesheets and invoicing processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and escalation-handling skills.

Good to Have:

• Experience delivering AI/ML, GenAI or data platform programs.
• Domain exposure to data privacy, governance, security or compliance products.
• Certifications such as PMP, CSM, SAFe or PMI-ACP.
