Job summary

Trimble Viewpoint in Chennai seeks an experienced Manager of Cloud Operations (COPS) to lead a global cloud estate supporting 22,000+ servers and 6,000+ customers. You will drive an AI-first operational roadmap, mentor top cloud talent, and align security, product leadership, and FinOps disciplines.

You'll operate from our Chennai office in a collaborative model with North America, champion agentic automation, self-healing infrastructures, and a strong culture of engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT and cloud infrastructure leadership experience.
• Proven track record in people management and engineering leadership.
• In-depth ITIL discipline knowledge: Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, Release.
• Proven ability to manage high-priority operational escalations with customers.
• Experience onboarding customers and transitioning to cloud operations support.
• Global cross-regional alignment across distributed teams.

In this high-impact position, you will direct the global heartbeat of Trimble Viewpoint’s cloud estate. Operating from our Chennai office in an IST-driven collaborative model with our North American teams, you will champion agentic AI workflows, autonomous patch and incident pipelines, and FinOps cost-governance disciplines. You will have full executive support to cultivate an exceptional engineering culture, mentor top cloud talent, define technical standards with Information Security and Product Leadership, and lead the operational transition toward intelligent, self-healing cloud ecosystems.

Key Exciting Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership & AI Vision: Develop and implement the technical roadmap for AI-enabled cloud operations, championing agentic automation with human-in-the-loop (HITL) checkpoints across deployments, server lifecycle management, and daily workflows.
• Global Estate & 24/7 Service Oversight: Oversee 24/7 cloud operations across 22,000+ servers and 6,000+ enterprise customers, managing disaster recovery, capacity modeling, event management, incident resolution, and change governance.
• SLA & MTTR Optimization: Own customer-facing uptime and system reliability metrics, deploying AI-assisted root-cause analysis (RCA), predictive alerting, and automated remediation to systematically drive down Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).
• AI-SecOps & Audit Readiness: Champion AI-SecOps practices to integrate machine learning into threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and security incident response, ensuring full compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, and ITIL standards.
• FinOps & Capacity Planning: Direct cloud financial operations (FinOps) through AI-driven cost analytics to forecast capacity, optimize global cloud spend, and enforce team-wide budget accountability.
• Team Leadership & Global Governance: Directly manage and mentor the Chennai Cloud Operations team, cultivating high AI fluency, structured career paths, and seamless cross-regional governance with North American counterparts.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Professional Leadership: 10+ years of overall IT and cloud infrastructure experience, with a proven track record in a direct people management and engineering leadership role.
• Service Management Frameworks: In-depth working knowledge and operational execution of ITIL disciplines (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration, and Release Management).
• Escalation & Crisis Management: Proven ability to manage complex, high-priority operational escalations, maintain composed customer communications, and drive rapid incident containment.
• Customer Onboarding & Process Transition: Demonstrated experience facilitating customer onboarding and smooth enterprise transitions into cloud operations support.
• Global Cross-Functional Alignment: Track record of driving standard processes, operational rigor, and unified metrics across distributed, multi-region teams.

• Cloud & AI Certifications: Professional certifications in Microsoft Azure and/or recognized AI/ML platforms.
• Agentic Automation & Scripting: Practical exposure to building or supervising automated agentic workflows, autonomous remediation runbooks, or modern telemetry stacks.
