Job summary

Valeo, a global tech company and automotive supplier, invites applications for the role of Engineering Disciplines Management at its GTSC Electronics unit in India. The role focuses on budgeting, discipline leadership, and project performance across multiple engineering streams.

You will support the Engineering Manager and discipline design leaders, drive QCD metrics, conduct skills assessments, and mentor discipline designers while aligning with the group’s efficiency plans.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and tracking: contribute to team project budgets and monitor financial performance.
• Support Engineering Manager and Discipline Leaders in defining discipline budgets and KPIs.
• Lead and mentor discipline designers, ensuring adherence to standardized methodologies and QRQC processes.
• Drive efficiency plans and continuous improvement across projects within the discipline.

The incumbent will be responsible for the following Budget: Contribute and Accountable to Team Projects [Discipline Name] Budget: Support [Discipline Name] Engineering Manager and the [Discipline Name] Design Leaders in the budget definition. Support [Discipline Name] Discipline Budget Performance within Projects: Track and analyze budget performance within projects, identifying and addressing deviations proactively. Support Operations: Support Projects Discipline QCD Management: Lead the team responsible for Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance of the [Discipline Name] discipline within assigned projects, adhering to standardized methodologies and KPIs defined by the Division and implemented by the [Discipline Name] Engineering Manager. Ensure compliance with [Discipline Name] Discipline Methodology: Implement and enforce adherence to standardized methodologies, best practices, and KPIs for the [Discipline Name] discipline. Support design solutions and reuse: Oversee [Discipline Name] design solutions for projects and platforms, promoting the reuse of functional and solution elements from the Electronics discipline capitalization. Contribute to the resolution of critical project issues. Technical Design Reviews: Oversee Technical Design Reviews conducted by [Discipline Name] reviewers. Competencies: Support Projects Team [Discipline Name] Skills Assessment & Training Plan: Conduct regular skills assessments of the [Discipline Name] team members allocated to projects and contribute to the development of tailored training plans to address competency gaps and support career development, aligning with the Group/Division Discipline Skills Assessment & Training Plan defined by the [Discipline Name] Engineering Manager. Contribute to [Discipline Name] QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) managed by the [Discipline Name] Engineering Manager and Project QRQC (technical issue) managed by the project team. Efficiency: Contribute to [Discipline Name] Discipline Efficiency Plan Deployment in Projects: Implement and monitor the deployment of the entity's efficiency plan for the [Discipline Name] discipline within assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the overall efficiency goals defined by the Discipline Engineering Manager and adapting them to the specific needs and context of each project. Collaboration and Influence: Collaborate with [Discipline Name] Engineering Manager: Maintain regular communication and alignment on budget performance, project execution, competency development, and efficiency initiatives. Collaborate with [Discipline Name] Project Leaders: Ensure seamless integration of the [Discipline Name] discipline within the overall project plan and timeline. Lead and Mentor Discipline Designers: Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to Discipline Designers allocated to projects, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
