Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Bengaluru seeks a storage administrator with 6–7 years of storage experience. You will manage Object, File, and Block storage, SAN/NAS technologies, and Linux systems, ensuring performance and security across a hybrid IT environment.

The role requires 2 days per week onsite, willingness to work 24x7 shifts, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to meet SLAs and support transformation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent with 6–7 years in storage administration.
• Strong knowledge of Object, File, and Block storage.
• Hands-on with SAN/NAS technologies (Ethernet/iSCSI, FC, FCoE).
• Linux OS (RHEL/SUSE) install, configure, administer, troubleshoot.
• Performance, capacity, and security audit analysis and troubleshooting HW/OS issues.

What You’ll Do

• Operate, administer, and consult on storage infrastructure and Linux OS in line with ITIL standards.
• Provide technical input, solutions, and recommendations for deal pursuits and transformation projects.
• Deliver lifecycle support: planning, installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and de‑installation.
• Manage technical/service relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Resolve customer issues via phone, email, or remote sessions; reproduce issues in‑house.
• Perform regular follow‑ups with updates, recommendations, and action plans.
• Escalate issues to vendors per SOPs; lead technical escalations during crises.
• Collaborate with CoE/HW teams to diagnose and isolate complex issues.
• Maintain SLA compliance, case documentation quality, and operational metrics.
• Lead incident management across single and cross‑technology domains.
• Drive problem management: root cause analysis, trend analysis, preventive solutions.
• Independently prepare, review, implement, rollback, and test change records; participate in CAB.
• Apply patches/security changes, monitor compliance, and analyze compatibility.
• Ensure CMDB entries are complete and accurate.
• Conduct performance, capacity, and security audits; provide reports and recommendations.
• Deliver consulting support and training when required.

What You Need To Bring

• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s in Engineering (or equivalent) + 6–7 years in storage administration.
• Core Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Object, File, and Block storage.
  • Expertise in SAN/NAS technologies (Ethernet/iSCSI, FC, FCoE).
  • Hands‑on with HPE storage (Alletra 6000, Alletra MP, Nimble, 3PAR, Primera, MSA).
  • Firmware and management experience on storage & servers.
  • Linux OS (RHEL/SUSE) install, configure, administer, troubleshoot.
  • Performance/capacity/security audit analysis and troubleshooting HW/OS issues.
• Certifications (Good to Have): SAN/Storage, Linux, VMware VCP, Microsoft, ITIL.
• Tools Knowledge: ServiceNow familiarity.
• Workstyle: Flexible for 24x7 rotational shifts and weekends.
