Job summary

A leading engineering company in Vapi is seeking an Engineer/Sr. Engineer - NPD to manage the entire New Product Development process from concept to production release. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, excellent problem-solving and project management skills, and a qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-department efforts, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with standards. Salary is up to 5.50 LPA.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in engineering roles, particularly in NPD.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end product development processes.
  • Familiarity with feasibility studies, DFMEA, PFMEA, and documentation.

Position: Engineer/Sr. Engineer - NPD

Location: Vapi

Experience: 3 - 5 Years

Responsibilities
  • Handle end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) activities from concept to production release.
  • Study customer drawings, specifications, and requirements and convert them into manufacturable designs.
  • Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, and Tool Room departments for NPD execution.
  • Prepare BOM, routing, process flow, and cost estimation for new products.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, DFMEA, PFMEA, and risk analysis for new products.
  • Manage prototype development, trials, validation, and testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality norms, and customer requirements.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and documentation related to NPD (if applicable).
  • Monitor NPD timelines, track milestones, and ensure on-time product launch.
  • Drive value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Coordinate with customers during development, trials, and approvals.
