Job summary

KLA is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for our Chennai, India campus. You will contribute to testing across wafer inspection software, developing scripts in C#/.NET or Python, and collaborating with hardware, systems, and algorithms teams to ensure high-quality releases.

You will participate in end-to-end product lifecycles, assist with deployment support, and work with global teams to resolve defects.

Group/Division

The Semiconductor Products and Customers (Semi PC) business unit designs, builds and sells KLA’s product portfolio to help chip manufacturers meet high-quality standards for technologies like AI, data centers, automotive and electronic devices. Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. We also develop technologies for specialty processes, IC substrates, and PCB manufacturing, including etch and deposition, component inspection, and imaging and analytics. KLA's Central Engineering organization is made up of nine Centers of Excellence (CoEs) spanning disciplines like automation, motion control, sensors, platform design, and packaging. Each CoE contributes not only technical deliverables but also deep expertise, best practices, and advanced tools that elevate both what we build—and how we build it.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Software Quality Engineering (SQE) is a functional organization in KLA’s Central engineering group which serves all wafer inspection products in qualifying the products and qualifying to release the differentiated products to help our customers. SQE is seeking Product qualification engineers in our Chennai, India campus to enhance our Quality team.

• Responsible for software Testing activities using mix of both Manual & Automated testing Process
• Develop Test Scripts / Test Infrastructure Utilities using C#/.NET / Python for Windows desktop/application
• Develop Test case using solid test engineering principles.
• Participate in end to end product development lifecycle activities, collaborate with teams across different geographical zones to test software/Hardware solutions
• Work with team leads and groups involving Multiple engineering disciplines including systems/hardware, Mechatronics, marketing, Algorithms, Customer Applications engineers and manufacturing on all aspects of software project including requirement definition, getting clarifications, testing, Provide training/Demo’s, deployment support (Remote/onsite) and also reproduce defects from field.
