Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in India seeks a qualified Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, contracts and financial control across infrastructure projects. The role covers payment applications, change management, cost reporting and tendering in line with international standards.

You will collaborate with QS and AQS teams, prepare BoQs, measure quantities using IMM methods, and drive value engineering while ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in quantity surveying, estimation, costing, BOQs, rate analysis and tender management.
• Proficient in measurement and take-off using standard methods and tools.
• Client-facing with strong report writing, presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, verify, and certify applications for payment of invoices.
• Manage contract administration systems and automate workflows.
• Oversee final accounts and project closeout cost reports.
• Triage compensation events and track cost changes, advising on cost impacts.
• Produce monthly cost reports covering budgets, contracts, expenses, cash flow and forecasts.
• Prepare BoQ and quantity take-offs in line with IMM and international standards.
• Support tendering with cost estimates and evaluation reports.
• Collaborate with QS/AQS teams to meet deliverable deadlines.

A commercially focused Quantity Surveyor role responsible for cost estimation, contract administration, change management, measurement, tendering, and financial control of infrastructure projects throughout the project lifecycle.

Your role

Contract & Payment Management

• Prepare, verify, and certify applications for payment of invoices.
• Manage CEMAR/contract administration systems, including automation of workflows.
• Oversee final accounts and project closeout cost reports.

Compensation Events & Change Management

• Conduct initial triage of compensation events, aligning responses to NEC4 requirements.
• Track design and construction changes, prepare cost change reports, and advise on cost impacts.
• Provide cost estimates during change processes and support value engineering opportunities.

Cost Planning & Reporting

• Produce commercial reports.
• Prepare monthly cost reports covering budgets, contracts, expenses, cash flow, and forecasted costs.
• Cost estimates at various design stages.
• Support cost assurance processes at all project stages.
• Benchmark rates using market data and internal databases.

Measurement & Quantification

• Measure and quantify works against benchmarks and drawings.
• Perform quantity take-offs as per International Method of Measurement (IMM).
• Produce Bills of Quantities (BoQ) as per international standards like MMHW, RMM, CESMM4, and NRM.

Tendering & Procurement

• Prepare tender documents including BoQ, terms & conditions, scope of work, drawings, H&S guidelines, and specifications.
• Support bid evaluation by preparing comparison statements and assisting in technical and commercial evaluation reports.
• Organize proposals, specifications, and related documents into cost estimates.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and issues are resolved.
• Collaborate with QS and AQS teams, performing work to meet deliverable deadlines.
• Support project meetings and ensure timely delivery of commercial outputs.

About you

• Minimum 03-12 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's / master’s degree Civil Engineering Preferred.
• Experience of quantity surveying, estimation, costing, BOQs, rate analysis, tender management etc.,
• Ability to complete work on time and on budget within project scope.
• Client facing with excellent language, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Proficient in quantity take-off using CostX, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, OST, Civil 3D, and PRISM.
• Knowledge of standard measurement methods such as MMHW, RMM, CESMM4, NRM, SMM7, POMI, MasterFormat, and UniFormat.
• Chartered membership of RICS (MRICS) will be considered an added advantage.
