Job summary

Eaton India Innovation Center in Pune is seeking a Senior Engineer - Reliability to join the Electrical Risk Management Center of Excellence. This position focuses on delivering Design for Reliability in electrical product development, ensuring robust performance in data center applications.

You will plan life testing, apply PoF-based assessments, analyze test data, and drive FRACAS/Red X driven improvements across development programs, with collaboration across global teams.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Preferred: Master's in Electrical/Electronics/Reliability engineering.
• Required: Bachelor's degree with 6+ years' experience or Master's with 2+ years in Electrical/Electronics product reliability

Responsibilities

• Deliver Design for Reliability (DFR) in electrical product development programs without impacting the schedule.
• Influence design by introducing novel ideas that mitigate reliability risks and optimize product performance.
• Develop PoF-based reliability assessments for electrical/electronic products and cooling system solutions used in data centers.
• Plan and conduct reliability life testing using Eaton's internal test labs and external agencies as appropriate.
• Develop data analytics-based solutions from testing data for reliability life modeling.
• Reduce warranty defects through optimized burn-in strategies and drive problem-solving methods such as FRACAS and Shainin Red X in new product development or existing product engineering.

The Core Responsibilities Of This Position Are As Follows

• Reduce warranty defects through optimized burn-in strategies in close collaboration with respective plants, and drive problem-solving methods within the organization—such as FRACAS and Shainin Red X—in new product development and/or existing product engineering.

Skills

• Proficiency in DfR process like system reliability modeling, goal setting, allocation, prediction, demonstration (life data analysis, reliability growth analysis & ALT)
• Proficiency in reliability standards such as MIL-HDBK-217F, NPRD, Telcordia
• Knowledge in FRACAS and reducing field/warranty data into relevant life and failure rate information.
• Desired: Relevant work experience in the field of Electronics and Electrical systems for data centers.
• Preferred: DFSS GB certified from reputed organization and ASQ – CRE.
• Experience with any industry proven reliability analysis suite of tools. Sherlock, Reliasoft, Blocksim & Minitab preferred.
