Job Title: Power System Engineer – Power Studies
The primary responsibilities of this role are:
- Collaborate on power system studies projects such as network modelling, steady state and dynamic studies.
- Build core technical competence in power system studies for conventional and renewable generation, grid connection, transmission and industrial network studies.
- Support the wider team on execution of assigned tasks and provide solutions to achieve project goals efficiently.
- Develop and nurture leading skills within Jacobs and build relationships with clients when required. Self‑motivated and team‑coherent.
- Work in a team, contribute to project discussions, review technical reports and projects.
- Deliver knowledge‑sharing sessions on technical topics, market developments and train the team.
- Provide strong service delivery to all clients.
- Work with client and project managers to understand client requirements for key projects.
- Manage technical relationships and build appropriate contacts with key clients.
- Resolve client queries.
- Strengthen client relationships through excellent project delivery and technical performance.
- Commit continuously to learning and development.
- Support projects through delivery, HSEC, quality and client service.
- Work with DPE’s and PM’s to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Collaborate with the GID counterpart to deliver the expected performance on the project.
- Understand the commercial aspects of projects.

About You
- A minimum Postgraduate degree in power system engineering from a reputable institute, preferably IIT or NIT.
- 5+ years’ experience working in an engineering or consulting organization with a strong focus on power system modelling, simulations and problem solving.
Mandatory Skill Sets
- Experience in power generation technologies, including solar, wind and battery storage (renewables) relevant to the market.
- Optional experience in hydrogen fuel cell technology, power generation and microgrids.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting studies such as:
- Power system steady state and dynamic analysis (power flows, short circuit, protection coordination, unit protection, motor starting, arc flash, power quality, power system stability studies).
- Electromagnetic transient analysis (insulation coordination, equipment failure analysis).
- Grid connection studies.
- Strong understanding of international standards, respective country grid codes and the ability to interpret requirements.
- Excellent technical report writing skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate a clear technical direction.
- Hands‑on experience operating power system software such as PowerFactory, ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD, CYME, SKM; experience with Python programming is preferred.
- Experience presenting to clients (internal and external) and possessing good networking skills.
- Capacity to work within teams to solve technical problems and achieve a high level of assurance on project deliverables.
