Job Purpose

The Power Scheduling Manager - MUL is responsible for ensuring efficient power scheduling, load forecasting, and real‑time grid management to optimise energy procurement and distribution. The role drives demand‑supply balancing, minimises deviations, and ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines while coordinating with stakeholders for accurate scheduling and dispatch. It strengthens operational efficiency by leveraging data analytics, optimising scheduling strategies, and mitigating imbalance penalties to support cost‑effective and reliable power distribution within MPSEZ Utilities Limited.

Power Scheduling and Load Management

Ensure efficient power scheduling by forecasting demand, preparing day‑ahead schedules, real‑time schedules and monthly schedules, and optimising energy allocation. Maintain load balance across demand & supply by adjusting schedules in response to grid fluctuations and real‑time demand. Optimise short‑term and long‑term scheduling strategies to ensure system reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Real‑Time Grid Operations And Dispatch Optimization

Monitor real‑time power drawl and consumption trends, adjusting schedules dynamically to prevent grid imbalances. Implement automated scheduling and dispatch strategies to enhance system responsiveness and minimise deviations. Coordinate with Load Dispatch Centres (LDCs), grid operators, and power plants to ensure seamless power flow and adherence to dispatch instructions.

Regulatory Compliance And Market Operations

Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory guidelines by following state and national grid codes, scheduling norms, and power trading regulations. Optimise power procurement and scheduling in line with contractual obligations, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and open access policies. Manage reporting and documentation for scheduling approvals, deviations, penalties, and compliance audits.

Renewable Energy Integration And Scheduling Optimization

Incorporate renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hybrid) into power scheduling strategies to maximise clean energy utilisation. Reduce renewable energy curtailment by forecasting variability and ensuring grid stability through adaptive scheduling. Implement data‑driven analytics and forecasting tools to enhance scheduling accuracy for variable renewable energy sources.

Power Trading And Energy Cost Optimization

Support short‑term and day‑ahead market trading strategies by analysing price trends, availability, and demand forecasts. Reduce energy costs by optimising procurement schedules, ensuring efficient utilisation of contracted and market‑based power sources. Coordinate with power exchanges, traders, and market operators to identify cost‑saving opportunities and minimise deviations.

Stakeholder Coordination And Cross‑Functional Engagement

Work closely with generator, transmission, bulk consumers, and operations teams to align power scheduling with grid capacity and system constraints. Liaise with LDCs, regulatory bodies, market operators, and external agencies to ensure smooth coordination in scheduling and dispatch processes. Improve decision‑making by providing real‑time insights, analytics, and performance reports to management and key stakeholders.

Technology Integration And Process Enhancement

Enhance power scheduling accuracy by leveraging AI‑driven forecasting models, automation tools, and SCADA‑based real‑time monitoring.
