Job description

Responsibilities

• Provide overall engineering solutions, analysis, specifications, and procurement support for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to develop innovative and efficient designs for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.
• Develop feasibility studies for gas networks for new developments during master plan stages.
• Develop comparison between different gas options (e.g., LPG, SNG).
• Design gas farms with the associated piping network for small, medium, and large‑scale developments.
• Familiar with designs of LPG farms, primary and secondary pressure regulating stations (PPRS & SPRS), etc.
• Familiar with ADNOC, GASCO, Civil Defense, NFPA, and all relevant standards for gas networks.
• Provide expert advice and technical guidance on all aspects of gas distribution, transmission, and storage systems, including gas pipelines and related facilities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry regulations; ensure all gas infrastructure projects adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Oversee the execution of gas infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with gas infrastructure projects; develop contingency plans for unforeseen challenges.
• Act as a point of contact for clients and provide regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns or questions.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and experience.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in gas infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
• Maintain accurate project records, technical documentation, and reports as required by clients and regulatory authorities.
• Follow QA/QC in compliance with project requirements.
• Organise and attend progress meetings/communications with contractors, consultants and authorities.
• Minimise end‑user comments and ensure client satisfaction and quality of deliverables.
• Review contractor shop drawings and material submittals.
• Prepare design schedules, resource plans and assist in the preparation of budgets.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc (Hon) or equivalent discipline with a minimum of 12 years post‑graduate experience.
• Member of or working towards membership of an associated professional body.
• Experience modelling gas networks.
• Experience in detailed design of engineering solutions.
• Good report‑writing skills.
• Experience compiling authority approval documentation in accordance with local authority standards to obtain approvals.
