Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an engineer to contribute to Linux audio HAL/framework development in the Engineering Group, Software Engineering. The role focuses on designing and implementing Linux audio software, adding audio devices, and developing audio drivers while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The candidate should have strong C/C++ skills, knowledge of ALSA, GStreamer, PulseAudio, and a basic understanding of Android.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in Linux audio development and drivers is desirable.
• Familiarity with GStreamer, PulseAudio, and ALSA.
• Knowledge of RTOS environments and Android basics is valued.

Responsibilities

• Linux audio HAL/framework development and maintenance.
• Design and implement Linux audio software.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Add audio devices and develop audio drivers.
• Support customer requirements and provide troubleshooting.

Additional Skill set

• Thrive in Linux and RTOS development platforms.
• Good understanding of Linux fundamentals, Audio fundamentals, Audio HAL, Gstreamer, Pulse audio.
• Good understanding of MediaPlayer, MediaRecorder, Audio/Video encode and decode.
• Good understanding and hands‑on experience of audio drivers, ALSA.
• Strong C/C programming skills.
• The basic knowledge of Android.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
