Job summary

Magna International Limited in Pune invites a senior mechanical engineer to drive automotive component development from concept to launch. You will ensure PLM, GD&T, FMEA, and QMS compliance and collaborate across functions to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires strong problem solving, data‑driven analysis, and clear communication to support quality, cost and schedule in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLM systems, GD&T, VA/VE and FMEA.
• Knowledge of sheet-metal components (steel/aluminum) and/or castings.
• Strong proficiency in mechanical testing methods (tensile, hardness).
• Experience with automotive quality systems (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC).

Responsibilities

• Extensive product development and innovation expertise with PLM, GD&T, VA/VE, and FMEA.
• Broad knowledge of sheet-metal components and/or castings.
• Mechanical testing methods such as tensile testing and metallurgy.
• Automotive quality system experience (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC).
• Lead and manage complex projects from concept to launch and logistics.
• Knowledge of QMS requirements.
• Prepare reports, proposals, and customer-facing documentation.

Job Responsibilities

• Extensive product development and innovation expertise, including deep experience with PLM systems, GD&T, VA/VE, and FMEA.
• Broad and advanced knowledge of sheet‑metal components (steel and aluminum) and/or castings, covering at least five commodities.
• Strong proficiency in mechanical laboratory testing methods (tensile testing, hardness measurement, metallurgy).
• Highly experienced in automotive quality requirements such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and SPC.
• Comprehensive process and manufacturing knowledge, including forming, joining, and quality‑related processes.
• Fully capable of leading and managing complex projects from concept initiation through feasibility, design, construction, try‑out, launch, and logistics.
• Sound knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports, proposals, presentations, and customer‑facing documentation.
• Demonstrates strong time and self‑management skills and proactively and reliably prioritizes assigned tasks.
• Experienced in handling complex problems, structuring topics, and contributing to the development of effective and sustainable solutions.
• Uses IT tools, advanced data analysis methods, and AI‑supported solutions to improve efficiency, analysis quality, and decision‑making in complex contexts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.) & collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
