Overview

CommScope’s cybersecurity team seeks a Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage security systems and controls that protect our business. The role requires a foundational understanding of technology stacks, security tooling, and cloud environments (Azure, GCP, AWS).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, monitor, and manage cyber security systems and controls.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with service‑level agreements.
• Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, the SOC, incident responders, and technology teams.
• Participate in change‑management meetings.
• Conduct performance and efficacy testing to validate security solutions while ensuring business operations continue unimpeded.
• Develop technical security standards and best practices with the team; evangelize these standards to other technology groups.
• Articulate common malicious tactics and remediation strategies to IT teams.
• Assist Governance, Risk, and Compliance with technical questions from auditors and clients.

Skills Required

• Minimum 4 years of cyber‑security experience with progressive responsibility; bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands‑on experience implementing and supporting at least two security capabilities (firewalls, CASB, SSE, DLP, SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanning, PKI, MFA, CSPM, etc.).
• Experience in other IT/technical domains and ability to communicate domain information to a non‑technical audience.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Customer‑service and solution‑focused orientation.
• Self‑starter who manages time, prioritizes tasks, and seeks guidance when needed.
• Desired: Experience with a major public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Desired: Experience creating and implementing AI agents.
• Desired: Exposure to modern software‑development and CI/CD processes.
• Desired: Light automation/scripting with a major programming language.

Education & Experience
