Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation, planning and value engineering across project lifecycles in Bengaluru. You will perform quantity take-offs, prepare BOQs, and create cost plans while ensuring budget compliance and client satisfaction.

The role requires 8–12 years in pre/post‑contract projects with strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with CostX, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D is essential, and MRICS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 08-12 years of relevant experience in Pre/Post Contract Projects.
• Proficiency with standard measurement methods such as NRM1/NRM2/POMI/CESMM4.
• Experience in cost estimation, BOQs, rate analysis, and cost control.
• Strong client-facing communication, reporting and presentation skills.
• MRICS (MRICS) qualification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and establish RFI documents.
• Quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation for various trades as per International Method of Measurements.
• Prepare cost plans at different project stages and establish unit rates.
• Support cost assurance processes at multiple project stages.
• Generate cost breakdowns and benchmark against prevailing market rates.
• Organize proposals, specifications and cost estimates for bids and proposals.
• Perform cost change tracking and report variances during design and construction.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and timely.
• Provide cost impact analysis for changes and assist in bid evaluation.

Overview

Responsible for delivering quantity surveying, cost estimation, and cost management services across project lifecycles. The role involves quantity take-offs, BOQ preparation, cost planning, rate analysis, bid evaluation, change management, and value engineering while ensuring quality, accuracy, and budget compliance. The candidate will work closely with clients and project stakeholders to provide cost assurance, commercial insights, and support project delivery. Requires strong experience in pre contract, quantity surveying, estimation, costing, standard measurement methods (NRM, POMI, CESMM, etc.), and tools such as CostX and AutoCAD. Experience in building projects and client‑facing communication skills are essential.

This position may be offered as either a contract‑to‑hire or a regular full‑time role, depending on your overall experience and the technical competencies demonstrated during the interview process.

Your role

• Review project drawings and establish RFI (Request for information) document.
• Quantity take-offs for different types of elements as per International Method of Measurements, With Proper QA/QC.
• Identify, prepare, and establish Bill of Quantities for various trade packages.
• Prepare various stages of cost plans as per project requirements and available information.
• Support cost assurance processes at various stage of the projects.
• Generate cost breakdown and establish unit rates for elements.
• Rate benchmarking with data bank and built-up from prevailing market rates.
• Organize proposals, specifications and related documents and convert them into cost estimate.
• Costing for value engineering opportunities.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure estimates are accurate and to make appropriate adjustments and resolve issues.
• Ensure quality deliverables to the client.
• Support all activities in bid evaluation by preparing comparison statements and assist in generating technical and commercial evaluation reports.
• Track changes to the design and/or construction work, modify estimates and prepare cost change reports.
• Collaboration with the team and stakeholders with good communication skills.
• Liaise with stakeholders and support team by providing appropriate cost information and data.
• Provide cost estimates during change process and advise of cost impact of changes.
• Support project meetings and collaborate with the team to meet target timelines for deliverables.
• Utilize experience to aid best practice in all processes and procedures.

About you

• Minimum 08-12 years of relevant experience in Pre/Post Contract Projects.
• Knowledge of Standard measurement methods like; NRM1/NRM2/POMI/CESMM4.
• Bachelor's / Master's degree Civil preferred.
• Experience of quantity surveying, estimation, costing, BOQs, rate analysis etc.,
• Ability to complete work on time and on budget within project scope with proper QA/QC.
• Client facing with excellent language, report writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Proficient in quantity take off using CostX, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of Standard measurement methods like; NRM 1 & 2, POMI, SMM7.
• Charted membership of RICS (MRICS) will be added advantage.
