Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a methods development engineer for the Systems, Data science & Methods team at IEC Bengaluru. The role focuses on automating engineering workflows and developing tools to streamline processes across engine modules and systems engineering teams.

You will work on automation of processes, validate improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a hybrid work environment at Bengaluru.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (4+ years) or Advanced degree (2+ years).
• Basic understanding of structural design tools: Ansys, NX, Teamcenter, Hypermesh.
• Coding skills in Python, C, C++.
• Finite Element Modeling and Analysis (Static, Dynamics, Aero-thermal) experience.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Learn the current processes and support automation of engineering workflows.
• Understand standard work processes and apply them from development to deployment.
• Prepare, maintain, or update documentation of methods and tools.

Job Description: Pratt & Whitney is seeking methods development engineer in our Systems, Data science & Methods team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India. The role will span working with engine module centers and systems engineering teams to develop various tools & methods automation. Main responsibilities include automation of various engineering processes, their validation to improve on engineering workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Learn the current processes, methods & support the automation of engineering workflows.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ yr experience) or Advanced degree (with 2+ yr experience) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Basic understanding of structural design tools (Ansys, NX, Teamcenter, Hypermesh).
• Coding skills in Python, C, C++.
• Finite Element Modeling and Analysis (Static & Dynamics, Aero-thermal) experience.
• Good communication skills and working as a team player.
• Strong learner and provide creative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Mechanical design, Aero-thermal, Geometric modeling
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Familiarity with SCRUM and Agile project management methodologies
• Experience with GitHub, JIRA or other code management and product management software
• Ability to interface with customers (internal & external)
