Job summary

Microchip Technology in India is seeking engineers to develop collateral for new product development and to maintain drivers across multiple platforms including Linux, QNX, VxWorks, and Windows. You will also create demos for events and deliver technical trainings to customers and sales teams.

The role involves direct technical support, collaboration with design, product, and marketing, and helping identify new applications and markets for Microchip’s products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Understanding of electrical system design including mixed signal circuits fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of embedded software/firmware design.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop collateral such as application notes, data sheets, technical manuals, and other activities for new product development.
• Maintain existing Linux/QNX/VxWorks/Windows drivers, add new features
• Develop and support applications that interact with PCIe, USB layers
• Develop demos for trade events
• Develop and present technical training such as webinars, hands-on workshops, etc. to customers, sales and field application engineers.
• Provide direct technical support to sales and field application engineers as well as key strategic customers.
• Work in a team environment and interact with Design, Product /Test and Marketing teams.
• Work with Marketing and Sales team to identify new applications and market spaces and assist in the definition of new products.

Requirements/Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in electrical engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Understanding of electrical system design including mixed signal circuits fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of embedded software/firmware design.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in presentation of technical information.
• Experience in direct customer service and support.
• Experience in working with communication protocols such as USB, PCIe, Ethernet, etc.
• Experience in basic electrical circuits design.
• Fundamental understanding of programming in embedded assembly and C programming languages.
• Fundamental understanding of common lab equipment such as function generators, power supplies and oscilloscopes.
• Experience in working with hardware and Microcontroller based designs.
• Experience in trouble shooting hardware and software issues.
• Experience working within Linux operating system distributions.
