Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Autocad certification (professional or expert).
• Autodesk Inventor certification (professional or expert).
• I-Logic knowledge (professional or expert).
• Vault or PLM & PDM experience.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings and 3D models of engineered products, including layout, general arrangement, assembly, and fabrication drawings for projects.
• Read and interpret project requirements and complex design drawings.
• Design primary and secondary clarifier products referencing proposals, civil drawings, and site mark-ups.
• Create BOMs in an ERP system.
• Update models and GA drawings based on markup comments.
• Maintain database for executed jobs and future reference drawings.
• Prepare ECN/DCN write-ups; optimize modeling process to reduce time.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues.
• Collaborate with project engineers to address technical decisions and execute the product development plan.
• Take direction from team lead/manager and perform assigned tasks.
• Contribute as a team member with diligence, safety, and professionalism.
• Ensure safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace; observe procedures.
• Ensure quality of design and services.

Job Description Summary

The Engineer is responsible for design and development of Water and Wastewater products. This role involves working independently with little guidance of experienced engineers, conducting research, analyzing data, and contributing to the optimization of production processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings and 3D models of engineered products, including overall layout, general arrangement, assembly, and fabrication drawings (for sheet metal & structural) for each project.
• Understand project requirements and read complex design and drawing documents.
• Design primary and secondary clarifier products by referring to proposal documents, civil drawings, client general arrangement, and site mark‑up documents.
• Create bills of materials (BOMs) in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
• Update the model and general arrangement drawings based on mark‑up comments.
• Create and update the database for the executed job, including drawings generated for future reference.
• Prepare write‑ups on ECN or DCN; modify and improve the modeling process to reduce modeling time.
• Provide timely communications on significant issues.
• Collaborate with project engineers to address technical decisions, coordinate work, and execute the product development plan.
• Take direction from the team lead or manager to perform assigned tasks.
• Contribute as a team member in the development of projects, carrying out responsibilities in a timely, diligent, safe, and professional manner.
• Ensure a safe, healthy and environmentally friendly workplace by observing company procedures.
• Ensure the quality of the design and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Autocad certification (professional or expert).
• Autodesk Inventor certification (professional or expert).
• I‑Logic knowledge (professional or expert).
• Vault or PLM & PDM experience.

Professional Requirements

• Minimum 6 to 10 years of 3D CAD (Inventor) and Autocad experience.
• Experience in the water treatment industry, particularly effluent treatment plants, is preferable.
• Experienced in preparing 2D general arrangement drawings of primary clarifiers (rectangle), secondary clarifiers (circle), thickeners, and orbals.
• Experienced in designing structural components such as pier assemblies, cage assemblies, truss assemblies, platform assemblies, and tank weldment assemblies for primary clarifiers (rectangle), secondary clarifiers (circle), thickeners, and orbals.
• Experienced in preparing preliminary bills of material based on 2D general arrangement drawings.
