Job summary

Eaton Corporation in India is seeking an Engineer- Flow & Thermal to perform flow and thermal analysis of switchgear, UPS, and allied electrical products. You will develop, validate CFD models, and collaborate with teams across India, Europe, the US, and China to substantiate design intent.

The role focuses on conjugate heat transfer and electronics cooling, with responsibilities to deploy Analysis First methods for low to medium complexity components and provide timely, quality results.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Applied Mechanics from reputed institute.
• 0–2 years of experience in flow and thermal analysis or related field.
• Strong background in CFD, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics with fundamentals of CFD analysis.

Responsibilities

• Contribute towards maturing flow and thermal capabilities within the ES Americas portfolio.
• Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict key CTQs.
• Ensure analysis-first deployment for low/medium complex electrical components and assemblies.

"The primary responsibility of this role is to perform flow & thermal analysis of switchgear/UPS/Circuite protection devices/transformer & allied electrical products for thermal performance prediction. Individual will be required to partner with teams located in India, Europe, US & China, understand specific design intent, develop, and validate analysis models to substantiate various engineering designs. He/She should be conversant with different products within the electrical portfolio. Candidate should ensure proper coordination and communication with all stakeholders by following project management best practices.This position is responsible for handling medium complex technologies related to conjugate heat transfer,flow estimtion & electronics cooling wherein incumbent is expected to independently handle requirements and deliver quality results within stipulated timelines.

"The candidate should have strong background in heat transfer,fluid mechanics with thorough understanding of CFD analysis fundamentals.He/She should proactively look for various opportunities to validate his/her analytical predictions with physical testing to constantly mature DP capabilities.

A. Technology Responsibilities:

• Contribute towards maturing identified technical capabilities aligned to flow, thermal domain from ES amercas portfolio
• Work closely with product and analysis experts to Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict key CTQ’s

B. Program Responsibilities:

• Ensure Analysis First deployment on low/medium complex electrical componenets/Assemblies
• Highlight apt technical and schedule risks on assigned low/medium complex programs and work towards metigating those
• Work with SME to effectively support simulation request to manage workload

C. Extended Responsibilities:

• Participate in ES Americas level initiatives and contribute thru solid value add
• Learn DFSS fundamentals & impliment on the programs
• Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate consistent increase in “value” from project deliverables
• Create valuable IP to expand innovation envelope for organization growth
