Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation’s Global Technology & Engineering Centre (GTEC) Pune seeks an early-career Mechanical CAD Engineer to develop and review CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for laundry-product components. You will use Creo Parametric to create robust part and assembly models and apply GD&T per ASME/ISO standards.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of CAD experience, familiarity with Windchill, and a strong foundation

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1–3 years of CAD/engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Creo Parametric for part/assembly modelling.
• Knowledge of CAD standards and data management processes (Windchill) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review CAD models, assemblies, and drawings for mechanical components and subsystems of Laundry Products.
• Use CAD systems to produce complex models and drawings within schedule.
• Ensure design changes are properly implemented and documented.

The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This role in summary

The position is responsible for developing/reviewing CAD models/ Assemblies/ drawings for mechanical/ electrical components and subsystems of Laundry Products. Utilizes corporate CAD design system to produce relatively complex models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings. Manages assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints.

Your responsibilities will include

• Effective use of plastic & sheet metal part design guide to Create/modify design concepts

• Determine the effect of change on other components/assemblies by geometric studies within the subsystem

• Analysis design using DFM Pro & other Virtual tools to deliver manufacturable design.

• Application of GD&T as per required standard (ASME Y14.5 / ISO 1101)

• Comply with ASME Y14.5 / ISO CAD drafting standards for engineering drawings

• Comply with CAD data management policies and design change processes using Windchill

• Understand & review requirements to produce complete CAD models of components/subsystems in the product

• Identify and resolve potential problems in CAD design and coordinate changes with x-functionals

• Plan and organize multiple tasks, normally within the context of a complex project, resulting in successful delivery on time and with Quality

Minimum requirements

Education:

B.tech from Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: 1-3 Years

Key Deliverables

• Create/update CAD models, drawings, and assemblies using robust CAD modeling in Creo parametric

• Comply with CAD standards, data management policies, and design change process

• Quality Review of CAD drawings & Models

• Ensure expected delivery on Time and at Quality

Preferred skills and experiences

TECHNICAL

1. Knowledg of plastics/sheet metal part design (Basic)

2. Knowledge of PTC Creo Parametric

(Part Modeling, Surfacing, Sheetmetal & Drafting)

1. Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M/ ISO standards (Preferred)

2. Knowledge of GD&T (Preferred)

3. Knowledge of Windchill (Preferred)
